The metal polisher/buffer is responsible for the buffing, or polishing of our different metals including brass, bronze and stainless steel and a variety of other metals with the use of a polishing lathe.

Job Description

  • Operate polishing lathe machines on brass or other metal substrates
  • Correct surface defects, smooth surfaces, and polish or buff to desired finish
  • Set up and operate polishing equipment.
  • Apply polishing compound to buffing wheel
  • Buff parts to achieve smooth or mirror-like finishes.
  • Record daily production on production sheets.

  • Understanding manufacturing capabilities, processes, and procedures 
  • Must manage and complete multi-functional tasks quickly. 
  • Must be willing to work in a fast paced, intense environment, with the ability to complete assignments.
  • Must be willing to wear a respirator mask.
  •  Availability to work overtime to meet deadlines.
  • Other duties as assigned by Manager.

 

  • Physical Demands and Work Environment:
  • The employee frequently is required to walk or stand for long periods of time.
  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 lbs., occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
  • The employee frequently will apply pressure to the air way buff.
