Job Summary

Create Music Group’s Business Affairs team is looking for an intern to join and assist the Business Affairs team and A&Rs with agreement drafting, managing terminations, takedowns and conflicts, and organizing legal information. If you are interested in a future career in music law this is a great opportunity to learn and have a hands-on, introductory experience!


This is an unpaid, part-time internship designed for current students receiving college credit. Interns must be eligible to work in the U.S. and available for 20-25 hours per week over a 3–4 month term.

Responsibilities

  • Creating documents on Salesforce
  • Tracking deals across various departments
  • Drafting simple forms and reviewing contracts
  • Managing the material terms in client accounts
  • Populating schedule information, and scheduling meetings for the team and other stakeholders
  • Closing deals and creating abstracts for each deal
  • Sending documents for execution and saving the same
  • Organizing of deal terms, client information, and documents
  • Requesting contracting information from artists, managers, and legal teams
  • Coordinating final deal points with A&R’s
  • Creating, and reviewing redlines and edits to agreement drafts
  • Keeping track of deal negotiations
  • Communicating with various teams across the company
  • Managing projects within the Business Affairs team
  • Managing the deal flow and following up on actionable items as needed
  • Helping maintain Business Affairs deal templates including helping iron out errors in Salesforce


Qualifications 

  • Must be currently enrolled in law school
  • Needs to be organized and detail oriented
  • Strong communication skills 
  • Needs to have an interest in the legal field and eager to learn 
  • Self-learner
  • Can handle high volume of projects
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and Adobe
  • Some music industry experience preferred


Pay Scale

  • This is a for-credit internship.
