Business Development Representative
Waystation AI | Redwood City, CA | In-person, 5 days/week | Full time
About WaystationWaystation is building the operating system for CPG.
Every product starts with ingredients and packaging. That work still runs through inboxes, PDFs, and spreadsheets. Procurement is mission-critical but opaque, manual, and slow. It hides costs and quietly destroys margin.
We're an AI-powered procurement platform that turns email chaos into structured data and leverage. We sit inside existing supplier workflows (no portals, no supplier logins) and deliver ROI immediately. In our first three months with one customer, we saved them over $200,000. That paid for their annual contract in 30 days.
Repeat founder and CEO Ryan Caldbeck (previously CircleUp) started with 200+ customer interviews before a line of code was written. Today we have paying customers, real usage, and real impact. Backed by Founder Collective, Homebrew, Slow Ventures, and 87 Capital.
Why This RoleYou'll work directly with the CEO, sit next to product and customers, and help build the sales motion from scratch. You're not selling vaporware. You're selling a product that demonstrably saves customers money.
Clear path to AE if you perform.
What You'll Do• Book qualified meetings through outbound: cold calls, email, LinkedIn, events
• Target mid-market food, beverage, supplement, and pet food companies ($50M to $500M revenue)
• Engage CEOs plus procurement, ops, finance, and supply chain leaders
• Run discovery and qualify real pain, not polite interest
• Partner with the CEO to sharpen messaging, positioning, and deal strategy
• Build the outbound systems and playbook that don't exist yet
What We're Looking For• 6+ months of B2B outbound experience, currently active or within the last 6 months
• Fluent with AI tools in your daily work. This is a hard requirement, not a bonus
• Extreme urgency and ownership. You figure it out rather than wait to be told
• Resilient. You get told no all day and stay consistent
• Exceptional written and verbal communication
• In-person, 5 days a week, Redwood City
Helpful, But Not RequiredCollege athletes stand out to us. Competing at that level builds coachability, resilience after losing, and comfort being measured every day. A track record of excellence in any craft reached through sustained effort counts the same way.
• Selling into ops, finance, or supply chain personas
• Startup or early-stage experience
• CPG, food and beverage, or supply chain background
What We OfferCompetitive base + upside, meaningful equity, direct mentorship from a repeat founder, clear path to AE, full health/dental/vision, unlimited vacation.
