About the Role:

We're actively looking for a Business Development Representative to be a core part of the Cypris team and help us accomplish our mission to bring actionable insights to R&D. The role is US-based and hybrid. The ideal candidate is ambitious, energetic, and strategic, and utilizes tasks like cold calls, LinkedIn outreach, and email to create opportunities with our ideal customers. We're seeking individuals who bring a creative mindset, approach business development with a strategic mindset and are excited to have conversations with executive-level R&D professionals. The ideal candidate is ready to contribute actively, play a pivotal role in shaping our BDR team, and be integral to Cypris’s core functions. As we expand, we envision your career growing alongside our company, making meaningful contributions to both the team and accomplishing your career goals.

In this role, you will: 

  • Generate new business opportunities among target companies
  • Consistently meet and exceed your opportunity targets using a multi-channel strategy (cold calling, LinkedIn, email)
  • Utilize cutting-edge sales software to support your daily activities
  • Build strong relationships with prospects to ensure success, and partner closely with Account Executives to nurture new business opportunities
  • Identify and document best practices to refine our lead generation playbook
  • Implement a strategic approach to prioritize key accounts within our target market. Analyze industry trends, company profiles, and market data to pinpoint high-potential opportunities for focused outreach
Requirements

A Key Candidate Will Have: 

  • 1+ years of BDR prospecting experience in B2B SaaS (preferred), including cold calling and outbound outreach to engage potential customers
  • A mission-driven, entrepreneurial attitude and a desire to be a key member of a fast-growing startup
  • Enthusiasm for personal and professional growth, driven by a genuine desire to exceed expectations
  • Confidence and energy when cold calling to engage prospects and create new opportunities
  • Strong attention to detail with a process- and solution-oriented mindset

We sell annual access to our dashboard to R&D, innovation & IP teams looking to get in touch with the innovation landscape. We also build custom reports for objective-oriented projects. Both can be included in one package.

What does the interview process look like?

The process depends on the role. For all positions, we like to start with a quick intro call just to make sure we're aligned.

From there, we typically do a longer (45min) call with one of our team members that can appropriately vet your skills & "speak your language" - on the engineering side, this might mean some technical questions, while on the sales side we ask you to build a quick presentation about yourself.
