RoleWe’re looking for an exceptional Business Development Representative to support our commercial growth with biotech companies and academic organizations. This is a high-ownership role for someone who wants to materially contribute to the future of science.
You’ll work directly with leadership, product, and engineering to bring Edison Scientific to market, close early customers, and turn learnings into repeatable processes.
Responsibilities- Engage with biotechnology and academic accounts, translating complex capabilities into clear value.
- Own the revenue generation cycle: prospecting, discovery, solutioning, negotiation, and close.
- Partner closely with Product and Engineering to relay customer feedback and assist in helping shape the roadmap.
- Help define ICP, messaging, pricing, and business development process in an early-stage environment.
- Build trusted relationships with early customers and turn them into long-term partners.
- Contribute to go-to-market strategy as we scale from early adopters to broader adoption.
- 4-6 years of experience in business development, ideally in SaaS, data, developer tools, or scientific/technical platforms.
- Experience selling complex or technical products to sophisticated buyers, ideally in life sciences.
- Comfort operating in early-stage, ambiguous environments with little existing structure.
- Strong discovery and storytelling skills- you can connect technical detail to business impact.
- Builder mindset: you enjoy creating process, not just following one.
- High integrity, curiosity, and genuine interest in advancing science or healthcare.
- Comfortable navigating ambiguity and driving progress in 0→1 environments.
- Advanced degree in biology, bioengineering, computational biology, or related field.
- Location: San Francisco (Dogpatch), CA or Boston, MA
- At Edison Scientific, we know that titles can cover a range of experience levels. Actual base pay will depend on factors such as skills, experience, and scope of responsibility. Compensation ranges may evolve as we continue to grow. In addition to base pay, team members may be eligible for equity, benefits, and other perks.
- Compensation: $200,00- $250,000 OTE (50/50 split) + equity
