Dynatrace is seeking to add a Business Intelligence Intern - Finance to its Business Intelligence team to address its growing need to enable flawless and secure digital interactions for Dynatrace customers. As a Business Intelligence Intern, your work will help create a world where software works perfectly.
Your role at DynatraceThe Business Intelligence Intern will partner with the Manager, Business Intelligence and Sr Director, Finance Systems and Analytics and will gain hands-on industry experience in the Finance/Analysis field.
Responsibilities:
- Assists with costing, projecting, analyzing and organizing data.
- Assists in projects related to specific department or Finance in general.
- May be expected to complete a project or projects from start to finish of varying levels of responsibility.
- Interacts with all levels of business and across functions
- Validates, enters, reconciles, and audits routine financial information.
Required Qualifications:
- Education: Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Computer Science, Information Systems / Information Technology, Analytics / Business Analytics, Software Engineering or related quantitative discipline.
- Must have coursework or project exposure to Applied AI / Generative AI, such as LLM usage or applications, or AI assistants/ agents/automation, or NLP or human‑computer interaction.
- Local to Boston, MA and able to come to the office 4 days a week.
Must‑Have Skillsets:
- Applied AI mindset: experience using AI models and tools to support real workflows
- AI tools / platforms exposure to but not limited to Microsoft Copilot, Copilot Studio, Gemini, Claude, or chatbot frameworks, and workflow or automation tools (e.g., Power Automate or similar)
- Ability to translate business problems into AI‑enabled workflows, evaluate AI outputs for usefulness, accuracy, and limitations, and document and communicate findings clearly to non‑technical users
- Foundational understanding of Finance / Accounting environments, including awareness of common FP&A concepts (e.g., actuals vs forecast, variance, sensitivity, time periods), understanding that data privacy, governance, and controls are stricter in Finance than in general business functions, ability to work within predefined data sources and approved tools
Nice‑to‑Have:
- Experience building or experimenting with Chatbots, AI assistants, copilots, or agents; Prompt design and prompt iteration; Retrieval‑augmented generation (RAG) concepts
- Familiarity with enterprise tools or environments, such as Power BI or dashboard‑based analytics, SharePoint, or Microsoft 365 integrations
- Exposure to responsible AI considerations (data privacy, validation of AI outputs, Human‑in‑the‑loop design)
