About the Role:

Finix is hiring a Business Operations Analyst who will report directly to the VP of Finance. This role will operate as a true generalist, owning complex problems across Finix, starting with loss recovery operations and risk management. Finix operations include analyzing and facilitating money movement from the transaction to the settlement of funds to multiple parties. You'll build the models, reporting, and recovery workflows, expanding to broader Finance and cross-functional projects over time.

The Business Operations Analyst will drive initiatives and manage a constantly changing portfolio of projects that require attention to detail and flawless execution. The right candidate is comfortable wearing multiple hats in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.

This is an in-office role.

You Will:

  • Research, develop, and deliver special projects and strategic business initiatives under the guidance of the Head of Finance and other senior leadership
  • Retrieve, synthesize, model and analyze data to drive financial decision-making
  • Organize meetings around specific issues and record decisions and action items
  • Scale the financial operations infrastructure, including cash management, accounting function, and disputes win rate optimization
  • Work with the finance team to track reserve levels across the merchant portfolio and coordinate with the transaction monitoring team on managing settlement releases
  • Own the receivables function in order to trace failed money movement across systems, size company risk exposure, and support transaction reconciliation
  • Partner with risk, legal, and customer-facing teams to drive recovery outcomes
  • Identify process gaps across loss recovery workflows and recommend product solutions
  • Be ready to take on high-priority ad-hoc projects on behalf of the Head of Finance

You Have:

  • 2+ years of experience in investment banking, management consulting, business operations or strategy & operations role at a high-growth company
  • Strong analytical and structured problem-solving skills
  • Advanced Excel proficiency; you build models from scratch
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with minimal guidance and can adapt quickly to changing demands of the business in light of ambiguity
  • Outstanding communication skills in both written and verbal form
  • Demonstrated ability to research topics and synthesize complex information
  • Proven experience managing multiple projects and priorities concurrently
  • Insatiable curiosity and an unstoppable drive to succeed
  • Flexible attitude with a growth mentality and the ability to rapidly action feedback

Nice to Have:

  • Experience in payments, fintech, or financial services, particularly in credit risk, collections, or fraud operations
  • Experience with ACH workflows, chargeback mechanics, or reserve management
  • SQL proficiency

Base Salary Range: $ $100,000/yr to $160,000/yr + equity + benefits
 
Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on this job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire (remote) salaries. Individual pay is determined by work location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
