Company Description
TrueTandem's mission is to be a trusted information technology solutions provider, committed to the success of our customers, communities and employees. To enable this mission, we listen to our customers’ needs, empower our dedicated and talented employees, envision success together, and deliver innovative cost-effective solutions. For our customers, we aim to deliver more power to meet their business outcomes through technology implementation, integration, optimization and customization. We enable some of the most well-known companies, nonprofits and federal agencies in the United States to intelligently plan and develop their applications, modernize their infrastructure and manage their data.

We are seeking a highly analytical, technically conversant Business Systems Analyst (BSA) to support enterprise application modernization development, governance, and technology strategy initiatives.

This position serves as a bridge between business stakeholders, project management, solution architects, developers, and technical teams. The role requires someone who can move comfortably between detailed application requirements analysis to broader initiatives involving requirements, technical documentation, processes and procedures, and governance.

While we work within the Agile Scrum framework, this is not primarily a Scrum facilitation or backlog-management position. The successful candidate must be a hands-on analyst who can navigate from writing proper user stories and requirements, to strong independent writer who can investigate complex subjects, synthesize information from multiple sources, identify gaps, engage the appropriate subject-matter experts, and transform incomplete or fragmented information into clear, accurate, professional work products.

Responsibilities include:

  • Facilitate requirements sessions with business users, subject-matter experts, technical teams, and stakeholders.
  • Ask probing follow-up questions to uncover business rules, data requirements, dependencies, assumptions, exceptions, and decision points.
  • Independently identify gaps and areas requiring further analysis.
  • Develop epics, features, user stories, business rules, and detailed acceptance criteria.
  • Ensure requirements contain sufficient information to support development and testing.
  • Develop current-state and future-state process models.
  • Create detailed workflows; swim lane diagrams, process diagrams, current-future state diagrams, and other analytical artifacts.
  • Analyze how data elements and business conditions drive application behavior and workflows.
  • Work closely with architects and developers when requirements require deeper technical investigation.
  • Maintain traceability between requirements, development, testing, and business outcomes.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business, Computer Science, Systems Engineering
  • 5+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst, Systems Engineer, Senior Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, Functional Analyst, or similar position supporting technology initiatives.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting software or enterprise application development.
  • Strong requirements elicitation and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently develop detailed requirements and user stories.
  • Strong understanding of business processes, workflows, business rules, and functional system behavior.
  • Experience developing detailed process flows and workflow diagrams.
  • Exceptional professional and technical writing skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop substantial documentation from limited initial information.
  • Strong research and information-synthesis capabilities.
  • Ability to understand and communicate complex technical concepts.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with executives, business stakeholders, developers, architects, and other technical personnel.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Microsoft Power Platform experience.
  • Experience with Power Apps, Dataverse, Power Automate, Power BI, and SharePoint.
  • Experience modernizing legacy enterprise applications.
  • Experience developing governance frameworks, policies, procedures, or technology standards.
  • Experience developing SOPs and technical documentation.
  • Experience with application lifecycle management and enterprise technology governance.
  • Experience working directly with solution architects and development teams.
