Job Overview Summary

The Business Systems Analyst will be a liaison between the business operating teams and the Business Systems team to understand business objectives and supporting processes and systems to effectively translate business needs into requirements for system implementations, integrations, enhancements or defect resolution. The Analyst must be able to understand the business, IT systems and technical issues, and to facilitate process mapping, problem solving and issue resolution. To be successful, the Business Systems Analyst will need to exhibit keen attention to detail, while remaining aware of broader objectives. Additionally, the role will need to exhibit excellent analytical acumen, documentation skills, and an ability to prioritize multiple timelines and competing goals.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Follow and optimize Business Systems processes, SOPs and SLAs.
  • Demonstrate key business analysis skills: elicit requirements utilizing various techniques, to include: interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, business process flows, use cases, and end user task and workflow analysis.
  • Exhibit a strong customer-centered mindset with attention to process and system improvements to drive business outcomes.
  • Support team accountability for promised deliverables, project progress, successes, and failures.
  • Collaboratively share insights with peers and colleagues.
  • Escalate and qualify issues and risks related to work items, systems, or existing processes.
  • Understand, quantify and communicate business relevance and value to business teams.
  • Proactively identify and define system improvements, enhancements, and customizations to meet business needs.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Location

This role is open to candidates working remotely in the United States.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of relevant experience
  • Intermediate level of experience with MS Office and flowcharting tools
  • Strong business analysis, communication and presentation skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Technical and analytical skills:
    • Solid understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC)
    • Familiarity with Agile and Waterfall methodologies
    • Possess foundational data analysis skills (Excel, SQL basics)
    • Proficient in writing detailed business and functional requirements
    • Strong understanding of process mapping
    • Ability to perform impact analysis and determine business benefits
    • Exposure to tools like Jira and Confluence
    • Understanding of basic IT terminology, system integrations, and data flows
  • Business and communications skills:
    • Clear written and verbal communication
    • Ability to translate business needs into process and system requirements
    • Strong listening and documentation skills
    • Detail oriented and organized
    • Curiosity to understand business processes and challenges/opportunities
    • Experience contributing to test planning and user acceptance testing (UAT)
    • Skilled at business case development and cost-benefit analysis

Physical and Mental Requirements

  • Sit or stand for extended periods of time at stationary workstation
  • Regularly carry, raise, and lower objects of up to 10 Lbs.
  • Learn and comprehend basic instructions
  • Focus and attention to tasks and responsibilities
  • Verbal communication; listening and understanding, responding, and speaking

Pay Transparency Statement

The base salary range for this role is $70,000 to $122,000. Note that salary may vary based on location, skills, and experience and may vary from the amounts listed above. This position may also be eligible for a variable bonus in addition to base salary as well as health coverage, paid holidays, and other benefits.
