Who We Are

Serval is an AI-native automation platform transforming how enterprises operate. We build intelligent agents that understand real-world workflows and execute them end-to-end — replacing manual processes and rigid legacy systems with adaptive, learning software. Founded in early 2024, Serval is already trusted by companies like Fox, Notion, Perplexity, Vercel, and Brex to automate high-volume, high-friction operational work across their organizations.
At the core of Serval is an agentic AI platform that turns natural language into production-grade workflows. Our agents don’t just respond to requests — they reason, take action across systems, and continuously improve with usage. What began with operational use cases has quickly evolved into a horizontal AI automation layer used across IT, HR, Finance, Security, Legal, and Engineering.
Our mission is to eliminate repetitive, manual work across the enterprise and give teams leverage through intelligent automation. Long term, we’re building the universal AI operations layer — a system of agents that sits across business functions and runs the workflows that keep modern companies moving.
We’re backed by leading investors including Sequoia Capital, Redpoint Ventures, Meritech, First Round, General Catalyst, Elad Gil, and others.

About The Role

Serval is hiring its first Business Systems Lead to build a world-class, AI-native technology stack that makes our revenue organization move faster. You'll own the architecture, integration, automation, and optimization of our core selling stack: Salesforce, CPQ, data enrichment, engagement tooling, sales tooling, and everything that connects them.

This is a hands-on, builder role where you also need to think strategically about the business. You'll architect and ship systems and automations, while setting a strategic roadmap, making durable architectural calls, and evaluating the org's needs three steps ahead. You're equally comfortable delivering automations in Salesforce and other tools, writing the integration, and planning ahead for a scaled tech stack. At the same time, you're a first-principles thinker who wants to reimagine the GTM tool stack in a world of AI.

We know the strongest candidates for this role won't all come from the same background. We're just as interested in someone who's spent years architecting Salesforce orgs as we are in a solutions engineer who's implemented these systems for other companies, an analytics or data engineer who's applied that rigor to GTM systems, or a technical operator who's automated their way out of every manual process they've encountered.

What You'll Do
  • Own the architecture of the revenue tech stack, ensuring every new tool fits cleanly into the broader system rather than creating another silo.

  • Design and build integrations across Salesforce, CPQ, data enrichment, engagement tooling, and other sales tooling so data and workflows move seamlessly between systems.

  • Aggressively automate manual workflows across the sales, marketing, and deployment motion, removing repetitive work from sellers' and operators' plates; AI is at the core of our function.

  • Own Salesforce development and build a scalable CRM that will deliver at 10x the current team size.

  • Ensure data flows are scalable and reliable across systems, including the data warehouse/BI layer, to power reporting, forecasting, and decision-making.

  • Evaluate, pilot, and roll out new tools, with a clear point of view on when to build versus buy and how each addition fits the existing architecture.

  • Set and enforce data hygiene, governance, and security standards across the systems you own.

  • Partner closely with sales, marketing, deployment, operations, and finance leadership to translate business needs into system and automation requirements.

What You'll Bring
  • 5-8+ years of experience in business systems, revenue operations, sales operations, solutions engineering/implementation at a CRM or CPQ vendor, or a technical/data engineering background applied to GTM systems. Direct, hands-on ownership of a Salesforce org (admin or architect level) is required; how you got there is not.

  • SQL fluency and comfort working in a modern data warehouse/BI stack (e.g., Snowflake, dbt, Looker, Hex) to pull, join, and shape data across systems.

  • Hands-on experience with a modern CPQ tool, a call intelligence/conversation platform (e.g., Gong), sales engagement platforms (e.g., Outreach, Apollo, Amplemarket, Rox), and/or marketing automation platforms (e.g., Marketo, HubSpot) a plus.

  • A track record of designing and shipping integrations between systems, not just configuring point solutions in isolation.

  • Fluency with automation and workflow tools (Salesforce Flow, Apex, iPaaS platforms like Workato, Tray.io, or Zapier, or scripting directly against APIs) and a bias toward automating anything done manually more than a few times.

  • Real, hands-on experience applying AI to operational workflows, such as building with LLMs or AI agents, prompt engineering, or using AI-native automation tools, not just enthusiasm for AI in the abstract.

  • Strong systems thinking: you can zoom out to design an architecture and zoom in to debug a broken field mapping in the same day.

  • Excellent cross-functional communication skills; you can translate between technical implementation and business need in both directions.

  • Prior experience at a fast-growing B2B SaaS company strongly preferred.

  • Management or informal team-lead experience is a plus.

What We Offer
  • Impact: Be a key player in shaping the success of our product and company.

  • Growth: Build a fundamentally new AI product offering with the support of our experienced team and investors. Grow rapidly with the company.

  • Culture: Join a culture that values innovation, ownership, accountability, and fun.

Key Facts About San Francisco Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 365,500; 13.9% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Google, Apple, Salesforce, Meta
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, fintech, consumer technology, software
  • Funding Landscape: $50.5 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
