The Team You'll Join
You'll join the Platform Advisory Team (PAT), Mirakl's in-house strategy consultancy. The team partners with Sales across the Americas and gets pulled into our biggest deals to work through the questions a prospect can't answer alone: what is their platform and retail media vision, what is the value at stake, how to scale quickly, and how to mitigate risk. We work at the intersection of business strategy, financial rigor and commercial instinct, reframing a technology conversation into an investment decision about growth, margin and competitive position.

We're a small, high-leverage team, which means your work is visible from day one and you own it end to end. To succeed, PAT is highly collaborative, working across teams such as Sales, Customer Success, Solution Engineering, Marketing and Revenue Ops. We're actively architecting new ways of working, utilizing AI to augment and automate tasks to lever up our abilities, across multiple dimensions.

"At Mirakl, PAT consultants are critical to the success of our largest enterprise deals. As a consultant you will work hand in hand with VP+ roles at Fortune 500 companies, developing comprehensive transformation roadmaps & influencing key stakeholders along the way. In your first year, we expect you to lead complex & mission critical projects end-to-end, while continuing to advance the knowledge base & ai capabilities of our organization."

-Justin Samakow, Director Platform Advisory
Your Impact
  • Build the business case - run workshops and analyses to assess marketplace potential in a customer's specific business context, identifying the use cases, developing assortment strategy, modeling the economics, and quantifying operational impact.
  • Own the executive room - deliver Mirakl's recommendation to C-level prospects, deep dive on the right marketplace strategy for them, tailor the value story to each stakeholder, and hold your position when it's challenged.
  • Arm the Sales team - build benchmarks, insight assets and reusable value frameworks that Sales uses in their pitches, working closely with Customer Success and Solution Engineering.
  • Shape commercial strategy - support Sales Managers with pricing and deal structure on large, complex opportunities.
  • Build leverage with AI - identify and develop AI and autonomous workflows that make the whole team faster, with a focus on data aggregation, analytics and output.
  • Carry the platform message - represent Mirakl at external events and meetings, and work with Marketing and Sales Ops to identify the material and tooling the field needs.

What You'll Bring to the Role
We're looking for a consultant's mind with a commercial instinct, someone who can structure an ambiguous problem, build the numbers themselves, and then persuade a room full of executives. Great Business Value Consultants at Mirakl stand on three legs: commercial acumen, the consultant toolkit, and business expertise.

Experience:
  • 2-5 years of experience, ideally at a top-tier management consulting firm (MBB or Big Four), or in a strategy / operational strategy role at a retailer, brand or technology company. We are looking for a consultant who has owned end-to-end workstreams with limited manager oversight.
  • Direct experience presenting to, and being challenged by, VP-level stakeholders and above & owning that relationship rather than supporting someone else who did
  • Curiosity about, or working knowledge of, marketplace, ecommerce and B2B commerce models
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Nice to have: exposure to marketplaces, ecommerce, retail or CPG; an MBA or advanced degree in business, finance or economics

Skills:

Commercial acumen: managing and communicating with VP and C-level stakeholders
  • Commercial instinct: you understand what moves a deal forward, and can tell the difference between an interesting analysis and a useful one
  • Presence under pressure: you read a room, tailor the value story to each stakeholder, and hold your position when it's challenged

The consultant toolkit: Excel, PowerPoint and AI
  • Financial modeling: you can build a model from scratch in excel, explain and defend every assumption in it, and update it live when the facts change
  • Executive storytelling: decks that are simple, clear and memorable. Always lead with the "what's the so-what"
  • AI fluency: you use AI to scale your output without reducing its quality. We expect the bar to be higher when AI is involved.

Business expertise: frameworks and commercial models
  • Structured problem solving: hypothesis-driven and framework-fluent. You bring clarity out of ambiguity, move forward when the data is incomplete, and form a recommendation rather than describing what you found
  • Transferable expertise: ability to easily move between industries and use cases, understanding quickly what is critical to know, in order to add value in any scenario

Tools Used
  • Excel for financial modeling, scenario and sensitivity analysis, and business case logic
  • PowerPoint for executive storytelling
  • AI tooling (Dust, Claude) for research, data aggregation, analysis and first drafts
  • Mirakl platform data, industry benchmarks and market research
  • Salesforce
  • Google Suite, Slack
