The Role and Impact
As a Strategic/Development Industrial Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing and implementing solutions that drive Intel's manufacturing efficiency and long-term capacity planning capabilities. By analyzing complex business data, developing production models, and optimizing equipment and facility layouts, you will empower Intel to deliver world-class technologies while reducing costs and improving operational performance. Your work will directly contribute to Intel's ability to innovate and meet the demands of a dynamic global market.

You will join Intel Foundry's Factory Capacity Optimization (FCO) organization, a team responsible for factory space, capacity, and capital planning. This group leads Intel's growth strategy by enabling data-driven decisions that align with long-term manufacturing objectives. As part of the FCO Network Design team, you'll collaborate across manufacturing operations, technology development, and finance to support Intel's mission of delivering cutting-edge technologies with scalability and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and execute space, capacity, and capital strategies for APTM WPM (Advanced Packaging Technology Manufacturing - Wafer Packaging Manufacturing) factories to balancing near term execution and long range planning through scenario-based tradeoff analysis.
• Model WPM (Wafer Packaging Manufacturing) capacity across specific manufacturing segments, incorporating demand forecasts, tool roadmaps, and customer scenarios and demand-capacity tradeoffs to inform factory response options.
• Perform SnOP demand and capacity analysis evaluating gaps, constraints, and responses scenarios including one or more APTM manufacturing segments and translate insights into clear executive-ready recommendations on capacity actions, capital timing, and tradeoffs.
• Analyze tradeoffs between space, capacity, throughput, and CapEx to optimize factory economics and return on invested capital (ROIC), framing implications for decision timing and risk.
• Integrate capacity strategies across APTM organizations, Technology Development (TD), Manufacturing, Foundry Business Group (FBG), Foundry Construction and Sourcing, Foundry Customer Strategic Planning, and Finance to ensure alignment and executable decision timing.
• Collect, benchmark, and synthesize internal and external data to develop structured insights and recommendations for senior and executive leadership.
• Own and develop new planning or modeling capability within the organization, driving rapid maturity, adoption, and sustained impact.
• Communicate clearly under tight timelines and incomplete information, making sound assumptions when data is unavailable and upleveling insights to influence outcomes across a diverse cross-functional stakeholder set.

Qualifications:

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your school work/classes/research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering or similar degree and 4 + years of experience OR Master's degree in Industrial Engineering or similar degree and 3+ years of experience OR PhD in Industrial Engineering or similar.
  • 2+ years' experience in any of the following: Foundry manufacturing systems design, supply chain, compacity planning, or operations research.
  • 1+ years of experience with statistical analysis tools.
  • 1+ years of experience with analytics and data modeling capabilities using Excel.
  • 1+ years' experience with project management; experience managing multiple priorities in fast-paced manufacturing environments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree or PhD in Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience implementing Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies for large-scale process improvements.
  • Advanced proficiency in data visualization tools or programming languages such as Python, R, SQL, or Power BI.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills, with proven ability to synthesize complex data into actionable insights.
  • Previous experience in semiconductor manufacturing or technology-related industries.

Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in the US: $103,730.00-198,820.00 USD

The range displayed on this job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target compensation for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
