Description of Position

The role will work closely alongside senior professionals on the Capital Markets team to build the TPG’s Broker Dealer (see Market Solutions sections of TPG’s public documents) and execute transactions. TPG Broker Dealer (BD) is the investment banking arm for Capital Markets and a critical piece of the firm’s infrastructure to deliver differentiated financing solutions to our portfolio companies and drive alpha within our funds. This position will work across deal activity and work directly with the head of Capital Markets, Spencer Stenmark, as well as TPG’s Executive Office and other members firm leadership in adding capabilities to the broker deal and ensuring AI integration as well as updating the overall tech stack. While leveraged finance remains the primary product within TPG’s BD, this role will have exposure across the product offerings: Lev Fin, Equity, Real Assets / Securitizations, and Real Estate.

Principal Responsibilities
  • Deal Pre-Signing / Deal Execution (66%)
    • Develop new deal leverage reads for deal teams
    • Construct financing processes and associated timelines for deal execution
    • Identify target lender / investor bases
    • Lead initial lender / investor outreach
    • Provide product expertise for deal teams (e.g. guidance on marketing materials (RAP, LP, ), lender models, etc.)
    • Work with senior Cap Markets professionals on structuring and negotiation of financing grid and commitment papers
  • Business Development (33%)
    • Redeveloping the BD’s tech stack with a focus on the integration of AI
    • Integrating AI into the Cap Markets workflow across products and geographies
    • BD budgeting process (i.e. revenue by product and platform)
    • Re-imagining the BD’s pipeline trackers
    • Articulating the BD’s and TPG’s broader wallet and portfolio activity
    • Reporting BD activity for Executive Office consumption
    • Cross platform coordination of BD capabilities
    • Developing / refining processes to target opportunistic transactions
Requirements
  • At least 2+ years of relevant investment banking experiences (e.g. leveraged finance, financial sponsors, liability management, credit) or similar experience at a major direct lender / credit fund
  • Interest in AI and technology
  • Interest in Business Development and how Alternative Asset Managers are valued
  • Self-motivated and proactive
  • Strong organizational, process management skills, and an acute attention to detail while working on multiple, time sensitive projects simultaneously
  • Experience and desire to use and innovate with AI language models (e.g. Gemini, Claude, ChatGPT)

It is expected that the annual base salary for this role will be $115,000 - $130,000. Base salary is one component of TPG’s competitive total rewards package which typically includes discretionary compensation, comprehensive health benefits, and paid time off. Other incentives may also be available to certain eligible employees.
