About the role
OpenAI is seeking an experienced Program Manager to build and scale the Early Access operating model for ChatGPT for Work. This role sits at the intersection of product launch, enterprise readiness, and customer signal.

You will ensure that new ChatGPT for Work capabilities, from collaboration features to advanced admin controls, are tested with the right customers, generate actionable feedback, and launch with clear product-market fit and operational readiness. Through structured early access programs, you will help validate workflows, surface adoption blockers, and produce clear recommendations on launch readiness.

You will partner closely with Product, Engineering, Security, Legal, Support, and GTM, and act as the connective layer between customers and internal teams. Your work will directly shape how new ChatGPT for Work features are validated, positioned, and successfully adopted by businesses.

This position is based in our San Francisco headquarters.

In this role, you will:

  • Serve as the technical DRI for select early access features with customers, particularly when account teams require deeper product expertise during alpha phases.

  • Engage directly with enterprise and business customers to understand workflows, constraints, and adoption barriers, and translate these into structured product insights.

  • Drive scaled testing that produces clear signals on product-market fit, quality, and hero use cases to inform launch decisions.

  • Partner with GTM and readiness teams to translate early access learnings into positioning, enablement materials, rollout guidance, and internal education.

  • Own the end-to-end Early Access lifecycle for ChatGPT for Work — from intake and readiness through customer onboarding, live execution, and post-program synthesis.

  • Build and operate the systems that make early access scalable: structured intake, customer selection criteria, readiness gates, feedback capture, reporting, and launch recommendations.

  • Validate both enterprise readiness requirements (identity, security, compliance, deployment posture) and feature-level workflows, including collaboration capabilities and emerging product surfaces.

  • Maintain portfolio visibility across segments and verticals to ensure new capabilities are tested in diverse real-world environments.

  • Establish clear metrics and reporting systems that reflect program impact and enable continuous improvement.

You’ll thrive in this role if you:

  • Have 6+ years of experience in program management, product operations, or technical operations within a B2B SaaS or platform environment.

  • Bring strong AI fluency — you actively use AI-driven workflows to scale your own impact and can identify where emerging AI capabilities meaningfully change how teams operate.

  • Can serve as a technical DRI in customer-facing settings, confidently representing product capabilities, constraints, readiness considerations, and tradeoffs with enterprise and business customers.

  • Can build trust with account teams and customers by bringing technical depth, sound judgment, and clear communication to complex or ambiguous product conversations.

  • Understand enterprise SaaS systems and what enterprise readiness requires beyond feature completeness, including rollout strategy, admin enablement, documentation, compliance, and measurable success criteria.

  • Have designed and operated structured early access, alpha, or staged rollout programs with defined cohorts, metrics, and feedback loops.

  • Are comfortable acting as a bridge between deeply technical teams and customer-facing teams, synthesizing signal into clear launch recommendations.

  • Demonstrate strong cross-functional influence, aligning Product, Engineering, Security, Legal, GTM, and Support around clear decisions.

  • Are comfortable building operating models from first principles in evolving environments.
