Serves as the liaison between the COO or CAO and top management and stakeholders across the enterprise to ensure successful implementation of organizational objectives; has the executive presence to represent the CAO/COO in their absence
Acts as a central point of contact to coordinate strategic priorities, develop tactics and solutions; including development of projects and/or programs that meet organizational goals and requirements while suggesting improvements toward innovation, quality, effectiveness and efficiency
Assists the leadership team with strategic planning, budget and other resource needs
Work closely with the Chief of Staff to the CEO to provide Board Relation support for the COO or CAO and their respective areas of oversight as assigned (Board material preparation, pre-board briefing coordination, governance and material logistics, post-meeting action management, etc.)
Monitor high-priority initiatives and identify obstacles or potential blocks to success within and identifies enterprise impacts
Supports recurring meetings, training, off-sites and all communication needs to ensure alignment within leadership teams
Develops relationships within direct and extended team members and across the enterprise for purposes of understanding strategic goals and to act as a thought partner and sounding board for the COO/CAO and others
Attend meetings on behalf of COO/CAO as required
Provide decision support through data gathering and analysis as needed
Prioritize and assess requests/inquiries to determine the proper course of action
Additional support for COO/CAO as required
Job Specifications
Typically has the following skills or abilities:
Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent experience.
Minimum 10 years of functional experience demonstrating competency in several functional areas including championing, influencing and implementing enterprise-wide projects with five years at a management level
Excellent creative analytical and problem - solving skills for complex problems
Flexible and able to quickly and effectively change priorities and direction
Proven ability to navigate complex situations through organizational landscape and with multiple stakeholders
Ability to drive results through informal authority, serves as a consultant to key business partners, and represents users and customers in every thought and interaction
Proven ability to successfully manage risks/issues at a program level
Demonstrates ability to be a decision-maker showing balanced consideration of business issues and determining and effectively managing constituents
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and analytical skills
Strategic skills to support envisioning work, program planning and strategic partnerships
Ability to regularly exercise discretion and independent judgment in performance of his/her job duties. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
Demonstrated ability as a forerunner and coordinator in best practice improvements
Remain current in field; demonstrate motivation, creativity, and expert knowledge by initiating and driving the formation of new innovative ideas/programs
Strong willingness to learn, share knowledge with other team members, accept responsibility, and handle multiple tasks concurrently
Travel will be required domestic and international – approximately 10%
For roles that are remote (i.e., Work From Home (WFM)) or hybrid (i.e., partial onsite at a VSP location and WFM), must demonstrate a high level of engagement in virtual environments, including maintaining camera presence during meetings to support effective communication and team alignment
