Allswell is building the leading mental health company for the LGBTQ+ community. Affirming, high-quality care is still hard to find and harder to afford, and we are fixing that with a specialized clinical model, technology that makes our clinicians more effective, and insurance coverage that puts real care within reach.

The clinical outcomes are strong and the growth is fast. Since launching we have served hundreds of clients across Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, DC, in-network with Medicaid and major commercial plans in all three. 79% of clients report reduced depression and 72% report reduced anxiety after 60 or more days of care.

We are expanding our services and footprint quickly, and building the team to match. Backed by leading healthcare and impact investors, we have the runway to do it right.

As Chief of Staff you are the CEO's right hand across strategy and execution. Where our Head of Finance and Operations owns the numbers, you own the priorities: the highest-leverage projects across the company, the hires we need next, and the story we tell partners and the board.

What you'll own

  • Strategic thought partnership: Serve as the CEO's thought partner on strategy, prioritization, and the decisions that matter most.

  • Strategic planning: Run OKRs and planning cadence, while tracking follow-through.

  • Special projects and 0-to-1: Take our hardest cross-functional problems from analysis to launch, including new payers, markets, and service lines. Then hand them to permanent owners.

  • Board and investor relations: Prepare board materials and investor updates, contribute to metrics and narrative, and support the CEO on fundraising.

  • Hiring and people: Drive hiring execution for senior and clinical roles and coordinate onboarding.

  • Internal operations: Own meeting cadence and decision tracking, and represent Allswell with partners and at industry events.

What we're looking for

  • 3+ years in consulting, banking, or strategy and bizops at a high-growth startup; healthcare a strong plus

  • Sharp analytically and extremely organized, equally at home in a spreadsheet and a board deck

  • Excellent writer who can hold the room with stakeholders ranging from investors to clinicians

  • Thrives on ambiguity, context-switching, and ownership

  • Bachelor's required; MBA a plus

  • Passion for and commitment to LGBTQ+ health equity

  • Demonstrated AI fluency. You use AI tools to work faster and think bigger, and you find leverage others miss

What we'd love to see

  • A deep passion for transforming how LGBTQ+ people access affirming, insurance-covered mental health care

  • Experience taking ambiguous, cross-functional problems from zero to launched

  • A track record of earning trust with executives, investors, and operators alike

Why you'll like working at Allswell

  • The mission: we are building the definitive mental health company for the LGBTQ+ community, and the work changes clients' lives

  • The scope: a seat beside the CEO on the highest-leverage problems in the company, with significant ownership from day one

  • The trajectory: a growing business with strong outcomes and fast expansion, and a clear path to broader leadership as we scale

  • The benefits: health, dental, and vision, plus unlimited PTO

  • The team: a queer-led company that takes the work seriously and holds a high bar

  • Allswell is proud to be an equal opportunity employer. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status, and we especially welcome candidates from the communities we serve
