Overview
At Blacksmith, we provide cloud infra to help companies run their CI (GitHub Actions) substantially faster and cheaper. Our mission is to build a CI cloud. Our bet is that CI, as a class of workloads, is ready to be unbundled from the hyperscaler clouds (AWS/GCP/Azure). This is a bold statement, and we have an ambitious roadmap ahead.

Some things we're proud of

  • We orchestrate millions of VMs for CI jobs each month over our own fleet of bare-metal hardware.

  • We power CI for 600+ fast-growing startups like Ashby, Slope, AtoB, Pylon, Superblocks, and Finch.

  • Founders: Aditya Maru and Aayush Shah were early systems engineers at Cockroach Labs. Aditya (JP) Jayaprakash worked on search infra and was later a founding member of the ads team at Faire.

  • We went through Y Combinator's W24 batch and raised our seed round from Google Ventures.

  • We're growing extremely fast and hit $1m ARR with a team of just 4 in less than 12 months.

You are a good fit if you…
This role is both strategic and deeply hands-on. You will own core operations, including finance, HR, legal, office management, vendor relations, and company processes, while also driving high-impact initiatives. We operate lean, so you’ll often be the one both deciding what needs to happen and making it happen.

  • Want to operate as a true partner to the founders, and also roll up your sleeves to get things done. You’re just as comfortable setting company direction as you are booking and planning a company offsite, coordinating with vendors, or improving a workflow.

  • Are ambitious, driven, and want to fast-track your career by getting exposure to everything — fundraising, strategy, hiring, product, and day-to-day company operations. You want to be in the room where decisions are made and be the one making sure they happen.

  • Thrive in high-stakes environments where precision, speed, and judgment matter. You think like an owner, act like one, and aren’t afraid to get into the weeds.

  • Have a strong bias for action. You spot problems before others do, bring structure to chaos, and make things happen without waiting for permission.

  • Are analytically sharp and can quickly ramp up on new industries, products, and workflows. You enjoy diving deep into complex problems and emerging with clear, actionable solutions.

  • Are comfortable context switching — one day you’re helping close a deal, the next you’re running payroll, negotiating a contract, or standing up a new internal process.

  • Have experience in consulting, investing, operations, or a startup and are looking for a role with real leverage, visibility, and room to grow into a leadership position.

  • Are excited by the opportunity to work closely with the founders and directly influence both the big picture and the nuts-and-bolts of building a high-growth startup.

  • Want to work in-person 5 days a week in SF with a small, execution-focused team building something big.

Compensation and benefits

  • Medical, Vision, and Dental insurance.

  • Competitive base + equity.

  • Unlimited PTO.

  • Quarterly offsite.

  • Early-exercise stock options

  • 12 weeks fully paid parental leave (US)
