About the Team

OpenAI’s Sales team partners with advertisers to understand their businesses, develop meaningful advertising solutions, and drive long-term growth on the platform while maintaining strong standards for user trust and platform integrity.

About the Role

This role will focus on growing advertising revenue across the Travel vertical, including airlines, hotels, online travel agencies, tourism boards, travel marketplaces, cruise lines, and adjacent travel brands.

You will own the full sales cycle—from prospecting through deal closure—and build strategic relationships with senior travel-industry decision-makers. You’ll help advertisers reach high-intent audiences, improve campaign performance, and develop long-term commercial partnerships that support their business goals.

You will work closely with Account Managers and cross-functional partners to ensure successful advertiser outcomes after the sale, while maintaining primary ownership of revenue growth, commercial strategy, and Travel vertical expertise.

In this role, you will:

  • Prospect, qualify, and close new advertising opportunities across the Travel vertical.

  • Own and achieve a defined revenue target across an assigned portfolio of travel advertisers.

  • Build relationships with senior advertising, marketing, ecommerce, loyalty, and revenue-management leaders.

  • Develop account plans that connect advertiser goals—such as bookings, destination awareness, loyalty acquisition, app adoption, and seasonal demand—to measurable campaign outcomes.

  • Identify opportunities across major travel moments, including peak booking periods, holidays, events, route launches, destination campaigns, and loyalty promotions.

  • Structure and negotiate complex commercial agreements.

  • Build clear, data-driven business cases that demonstrate advertiser ROI and long-term platform value.

  • Partner with Account Managers to support seamless post-sale transitions, campaign success, renewals, and expansion.

  • Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Marketing, Policy, and Operations to support complex deals and inform future advertising solutions.

  • Maintain strong pipeline management, accurate forecasting, and a deep understanding of Travel industry trends.

You might thrive in this role if you:

  • Have 10+ years of experience in digital advertising, performance marketing, client strategy, consulting, or enterprise sales.

  • Have experience working with Travel advertisers, such as airlines, hotels, cruise line, online travel agencies, travel marketplaces, or tourism boards.

  • Have 3+ years of experience advising and influencing senior executives and client stakeholders.

  • Have a proven track record of owning revenue targets and closing complex advertising or commercial deals.

  • Understand travel customer journeys, booking behavior, seasonality, loyalty programs, and performance metrics.

  • Can create compelling business cases and translate advertiser objectives into measurable partnership strategies.

  • Have strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Can operate effectively in ambiguous, fast-changing environments.

  • Are excited to help shape a new advertising platform while maintaining high standards for user experience, trust, and responsible growth.
