About this roleResponsible for planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating clinical skills labs and simulations in conjunction with the health sciences and nursing departments. Responsible for the set-up, operation, maintenance, and repair of lab and simulation equipment.

What a day of a Clinical Skills Coordinator looks like:

  • Stages practice modules, clinical simulations, and skills labs. Provides instruction on lab and mannequin usage to students.

  • Operates simulation mannequins. Controls mannequin vitals, reactions, and other functions based on actions taken during the simulation.

  • Collaborates with faculty and academic leadership team to design, develop, and implement professional programming in support of academic and student success. Trains faculty on simulation lab operation.

  • Maintains inventories of equipment, supplies, and materials.

  • Performs routine maintenance and repairs of equipment. Coordinates the repair or replacement of broken equipment and any regular maintenance requirements by vendors.

  • Prepares required reports for various internal and external requests. Designs and creates training content and materials for topic presentations.

  • Maintains and performs in a safe workplace and follows established safety practices.

  • Research, evaluate, and recommend new lab materials, equipment, and supplies.

  • Maintains current knowledge of field or profession. Travels to training workshops, conferences, meetings, and professional events outside of college locations, as needed.

  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

We’d love to hear from you if you have the following:

Education and Experience:

  • Associate’s degree and one year of related experience; OR

  • High school diploma or GED and three years of related experience

Knowledge of:

  • Medical simulation software and applications

  • Microsoft Office Professional or similar application

Skilled in:                

  • Attention to detail while maintaining effective time and task management

Ability to:

  • Organize and prioritize multiple, competing priorities to maximize personal and team effectiveness

  • Effectively communicate verbally and in writing on a regular basis with internal and external customers, build relationships, manage customer expectations, and take responsibility for a high level of service

Licenses, Registration, Certifications, or Special Requirements:

  • Regular physical attendance required

  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Florida; OR

  • Licensed as a Paramedic in the State of Florida

Preferred, but not a must:

Education and Experience:

  • Experience in a clinical setting

Work Environment and Physical Demand:

  • Lift, carry, push, pull, install or remove objects weighing up to 20 pounds

  • Lift, carry, push, pull, install or remove objects weighing 20 to 49 pounds

  • Lift, carry, push, pull, install or remove objects weighing in excess of 50 pounds

  • Reach and grasp objects

  • Stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl

  • Stand for extended periods of time

  • Use of video display terminal

  • Use of manual dexterity and fine motor skills

  • Communicate information orally and in writing

  • Receive and understand information through oral and written communication

  • Proofread and check documents for accuracy

  • Work with equipment or perform procedures where carelessness may result in injury

  • Experience exposure to uncomfortable work environment due to extreme temperature, noise level, and other conditions

  • Risk for occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens

  • Work a fluctuating work schedule

The minimum base pay for this position starts at $25.81 per hour; however, the offer may vary based on the candidate’s education and experience.
