Join our team! Successful and leading title insurance agency seeks a highly self-motivated, detail-oriented, and experienced New York Closing Desk Coordinator with a positive attitude to be a part of our team. This is an excellent position for a candidate with experience in any of the following areas: Escrow/Closing, Title, and Real Estate Financial Services. Qualified candidates must have the ability to multitask, portray excellent verbal and written communication skills and be computer proficient.

Responsibilities:

ABILITY TO UNDERSTAND NEW YORK RESIDENTIAL PURCHASE AND REFIANCE CLOSINGS Be a liaison between banks and attorneys Monitor emails closely in Closing Desk Understanding of tax searches/tax contins Understanding of Title report Schedule B requirements/clearance notes Must have knowledge of and Generate affidavits for closing  Work closely with clearance department Schedule title closers – using the excel list provided

Preparation of TITLE INVOICES Standard ancillary fees are already in softpro, but will need adjusting have knowledge of recording mortgage and deed transfer taxes have knowledge of title insurance premiums AND endorsements according to transaction types Softpro calculates premiums and mortgage tax use the rate calculator to assist and check premiums and mortgage taxes have knowledge of the various county recording fees – using excel list provided Check file notes for any additional fees needed.  survey fees if applicable – check notes, survey department, and survey folder Any real estate taxes past due and any within 60 days of closing Consolidation Extension Modification Agreement (CEMA) transactions are mostly for refinances where the borrowers can alleviate paying mortgage tax.  (New loan amount minus principal balance of old loan, gives the gap mortgage amount to pay tax on).  Other recording fees will apply

Generate policy jackets and inserts FOR CLOSINGS Knowledge of NY policies for purchases and refinances and required exceptions Knowledge of required standard policy endorsements (STANDARD, WAIVER, RESIDENTIAL, ENVIRONMENTAL).  Other endorsements may be requested according to the transaction

Send title packages to title closers to include: Title Report Policies Title contin Tax contin Invoice Any payoffs Affidavits (Buyer, Seller, Escrow Agreement, Mortgage Payoff Affidavits, Payoff Letter Affidavit) Any documents from clearance folder needed for closing Any Clearance Notes from the file leading up to closing Return Fed Ex label Title Closer’s Checklist

Requirements:

  • Candidates with experience and strong knowledge of Title Insurance are encouraged to apply.
  • 5 plus years of experience
  • Knowledge of SoftPro Select a plus
  • Great time management skills
  • Outstanding work ethic with the ability to work in both team oriented and self-directed environments.
  • Detail-oriented and professional; able to handle confidential information.
  • High level of accountability
  • Customer service oriented
  • Creative problem-solving skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively (written and verbal).
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously

The annual base salary for this position is $65k - $75k.
