 Cloud Solution Architect

This individual will be part of the Cloud Security Consulting team and will serve as a center of excellence for specific cloud security technology areas and associated Fortinet products and solutions. They must be comfortable presenting to customers at all levels and capable of delivering paid consulting services and proof of concepts.

Ideal candidates will have strong knowledge of public and/or private cloud technologies, software development experience, network and application security expertise, and experience with Generative AI and Agentic AI. The role includes four primary areas of responsibility: 

1) Cloud and AI Security Solution Expert

  • Assist customers in creating multi-cloud and hybrid cloud security blueprints, with a focus on vendor-neutral and cloud-agnostic design and implementation of best practices 
  • Collaborate with team members to develop agentic AI applications that effectively address customer challenges in cloud and cybersecurity domains 
  • Become an expert in Fortinet products within cloud solutions 
  • Maintain knowledge of competitive products and services 
  • Respond to industry analyst inquiries and conduct demonstrations 

 

2) Trusted Advisor

  • Attend customer meetings and provide expert guidance on cloud security design and architecture 
  • Develop custom architecture and automation code based on customer requirements for cloud deployments 
  • Publish reference architectures for specific use cases 

 

3) Continuous Learner

  • Dedicate a portion of time to ongoing training and education on new technologies 
  • Lead technical webinars and hands-on demonstrations 
  • Contributed to advanced course materials for the NSE Institute 
  • Support training teams at SE training events 

 

4) Evangelist

  • Publish public content such as whitepapers and blogs on key technology topics 
  • Develop in-depth architecture papers supporting technology adoption decisions 
  • Actively network within the industry to build relationships and increase awareness 

 

Required Skills

  • 10+ years of experience in roles such as Sales Engineer, Consulting SE, Software Architect, or Solution Architect within cloud, networking, infrastructure, and/or cybersecurity industries 
  • Deep knowledge and hands-on experience with one or more public or private cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, NSX) 
  • Proficiency in modern software architecture, including CI/CD, DevOps tools (Ansible, CloudFormation, Azure ARM), Infrastructure as Code (IaC), scalability, and API-first design 
  • Experience building agentic AI applications is highly desirable 
  • Working knowledge of Python, Java, or other programming languages 
  • Cloud certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect or GCP Cloud Architect are preferred 
  • Experience designing and building applications using containers and serverless technologies is a plus 
  • Strong presentation and demonstration skills 
  • Excellent documentation and technical writing abilities 
  • 5+ years of experience with cloud solutions, virtual platforms, and software development 
  • Proficiency in English 
  • Comfortable with public speaking 

 

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required 
  • Graduate degree preferred 

 

Additional Requirements

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship 

 

Compensation & Benefits

The base salary range for this full-time position is $182,000–$222,000. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, 401(k), 11 paid holidays, vacation time, sick leave, and a comprehensive leave program.

Salary ranges are determined based on factors such as labor market conditions, job type, job level, and individual qualifications, including experience, skills, and geographic location.

All roles are eligible for participation in the Fortinet Equity program. Bonus eligibility is determined at the time of hire and reviewed annually at the company’s discretion.
