The CNC Machinist II independently sets up and runs CNC machines, selects tooling, makes minor offsets, and inspects parts to tolerance in a production aerospace environment. Tasks and responsibilities expected for this role include those captured by lower role specific levels. 

This role involves working closely with engineers, production technicians, and operations teams to support multiple programs and value streams. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Fully set up CNC machines from prints, process plans, and setup sheets 
  • Change tooling, verify fixtures, and adjust offsets 
  • Interpret engineering drawings and dimensions 
  • Independently inspect parts using micrometers, calipers, indicators, etc. 
  • Apply standard coolant, feeds/speeds, tooling changes 
  • Maintain production documentation and traceability
     
  • Escalate quality or machine issues appropriately 

Qualifications:  

  • Technical certification or equivalent machining experience 
  • 2–5 years of CNC machine experience in precision or aerospace 
  • Solid ability to read prints and GD&T fundamentals 
  • Comfortable with typical aerospace tolerances (±0.0005” range)

Compensation:

Level II - $32 - $40/hr

Level III - $40 - $45/hr

$32$45 USD
