Aerometals is looking to add the following position:

 

CNC Machinist

Pay range: $30 - $35

Schedule: Monday - Thursday 7:00am - 4:30pm & Friday 7:00am - 12:00pm

 

The ideal candidate should be able to demonstrate the ability to:

  • Prepare and load raw materials and parts onto the machine.
  • Check and change parts on fixture and vice.
  • Oversee the machines while they execute the tasks.
  • Perform Blueprint math: stacked tolerance, edge distance.
  • Follow procedures, work instructions, and select proper tools. 
  • Work with and mentor operators while also taking direction from journeyman and leads.
  • Utilize precision measuring device.
  • Make tool offset changes to meet tolerance of part feature.
  • Perform various CNC machining operations on CNC mill and lathe.
  • Utilize skills to support equipment such as, Bridgeport mill, manual lathe and grinders as required.
  • Implement general knowledge and understanding of CAD/CAM systems.
  • Use blueprints and design sketches to ensure the proper dimensions and tolerance levels of finished products.
  • Update and follow setup sheets.
  • Set up Mill attachments such as 4th and 5th axis.
  • Complete mathematical calculations related to SFPM, RPM, Feed Rates, and chip load.
  • Demonstrate ability to program simple parts.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of G&M code.
  • Perform any other duties as required by the organization.

Qualification Requirements:

Education: High School diploma or equivalent.

Skills:

  • Mechanically inclined.
  • Ability to follow instructions and learn CAD/CAM programs. 
  • Safety conscious.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Experience: 2 years in machining processes

Training: On the job training.

Aerometals has significant experience manufacturing critical application, militarized components to OEM engineering data for use on many fixed wing aircraft and helicopters. Customers include the US Military, Boeing, Lockheed, Sikorsky, etc.
