Commercial Counsel - Business Unit and Sales Support
We invite a commercial counsel to become part of the legal professionals serving Micron's business units and sales teams. This is an outstanding role that supports Micron's business objectives through partnership with in-house counsel, internal clients, and customers to produce high-quality results.
Responsibilities:
  • Independently draft, review, summarize, and interpret a wide variety of commercial contracts and other legal documents, including sales agreements, non-disclosure agreements, statements of work, and amendments.
  • Serve as a day-to-day legal partner to sales, marketing, and cross-functional teams to support business objectives.
  • Identify, assess, and communicate legal risks and propose practical, business-oriented solutions.
  • Support and, where appropriate, independently handle discrete contract negotiations with mentorship from senior counsel.
  • Identify complex or ambiguous issues requiring escalation and seek guidance from senior attorneys.
  • Collaborate closely with business stakeholders to align legal guidance with commercial objectives.
  • Support contract lifecycle processes, including approvals, execution, records management, and serving as a point of contact for contract-related inquiries.
  • Serve as a resource for contract management systems and contribute to process improvements, reporting, and data-driven insights.
  • Work with marketing teams to review marketing materials for legal and regulatory compliance.
  • Review and update templates, processes, and trainings.
  • Artificial Intelligence enablement: Use, enable, and improve AI platforms and tools (like CLM) to streamline workflows and automate processes.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar membership.
  • 2 to 5 years of relevant experience and/or training at a law firm or corporate legal department.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to collaborate, demonstrate diplomacy, and build relationships across functions.
  • Strong business judgment and ability to balance legal risk with commercial objectives.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and adapt in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with contract lifecycle management (CLM) and e-signature software tools.

The US base salary range that Micron Technology estimates it could pay for this full-time position is:
$127,000.00 - $222,000.00 a year
Additional compensation may include benefits, bonuses and equity.
Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target base pay for new hire salaries of the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional job-related factors, including knowledge, skills, experience, tenure and relevant education or training. The pay scale is subject to change depending on business needs. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.
