About Zipline

Zipline is the world’s largest and most experienced drone delivery service. We are on a mission to serve all humans equally by ensuring access to food, medicine and essential goods anytime, anywhere. We design, build, and operate the world’s largest autonomous logistics system, delivering critical supplies quickly and reliably. Today, Zipline operates on four continents, makes a delivery somewhere in the world every 30 seconds, and has completed millions of deliveries to date, including blood, vaccines, medical supplies, food, and retail products.

Our customers include the world’s largest and most prominent healthcare systems, governments, retailers, restaurants and global businesses who rely on us to save lives, reduce emissions, increase economic opportunity, and provide delivery from point A to point B as fast as possible. The drone is only 15% of what we’ve built to enable seamless, reliable, global operations.

Our system strengthens supply chains, reduces congestion, and gives people time back. With more than 140 million commercial autonomous miles safely flown, Zipline is redefining access to healthcare, consumer products, and food across the globe.

We operate at a global scale and are looking for practical problem solvers who thrive on real-world challenges and rapid growth. Our team is motivated by building systems that have a direct, meaningful impact on people’s lives and by scaling the future of logistics. We are seeking people who sculpt from first principles, enjoy facing adversity, and can do the impossible at record breaking speeds.

About the Communications Team

Zipline’s Communications Team shapes and shares the company’s story and impact. We develop and implement strategies and tactics to educate audiences about Zipline, tell stories that raise awareness about what we’re doing and the impact we’re having, increase acceptance of and excitement for our system, and cultivate strong ambassadors. We are passionate storytellers and make complex topics simple and understandable.

Zipline is entering a new phase of growth—rapid expansion in the U.S. alongside continued global scaling. As our physical footprint grows, we’re also expanding our storytelling ambitions and presence, both through established approaches and by pushing the boundaries of what communications can be. Our team is small, highly-autonomous, low-ego and trusted to use strong judgement on building long-term belief and trust in our brand.

The Role

We’re looking for an early-career professional to compliment our communications team across all functions, from public relations planning, research and activations, to event support and execution.

You’ll be a vital member of a small team that has an outsized role and responsibility for building and protecting Zipline’s global brand and reputation. You’ll thrive in this role if you are mission-driven, like to work in exceptionally fast-paced environments, are intellectually curious, work well cross functionally, and are equal parts creative and strategic.

This internship is a rare opportunity to gain significant hands-on experience with senior communications leaders tackling global tech, policy, communications, and market issues at a growing, category leading startup.

What You'll Do

  • Assist in building and executing strategic communications campaigns. While your focus will be on the United States, much of your work will have global reach.
  • Support the communication team's day-to-day work, including media monitoring, material creation and proofing, pitching, reputation management, event support, and research projects.
  • Assist in external storytelling, including story mining, social listening, arranging and staffing interviews, drafting messaging and media materials, reviewing and updating company assets.
  • Analyze news and social media coverage for key metrics, such as sentiment, pickup, message pull through etc.
  • Research projects, developing proactive story ideas, writing etc.
  • Work cross-functionally with the Communications, Marketing and Brand team as well as Customer Success and Community Engagement teams.
What You'll Bring
  • Early-career professional with 0–3 years of experience in communications, or a recent graduate majoring in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.
  • Experience working in fast-paced environments; agency, political, or in-house technology company experience is preferred.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong project management skills.
  • Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, compelling, and accurate content.
  • Strong interest in the evolving U.S. media landscape, including both traditional and emerging channels.
  • Demonstrated ability to leverage AI tools to build projects, streamline workflows, and drive impact.
  • Highly proactive, with a strong bias toward action and the ability to adapt quickly in dynamic environments.
  • Curious, creative, and motivated by continuous learning.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively across teams and functions.
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
