About the role

We’re looking for a passionate Community Manager to take ownership of n8n’s community presence on the US West Coast.

This role sits at the center of how we grow the community: supporting ambassadors, improving event quality, and helping more people connect with n8n in a meaningful way.

A big part of the job is making sure the community doesn’t just grow but stays valuable and authentic as it scales.

n8n is at a point where the community is no longer just growing, it’s scaling. What started as a group of highly engaged builders is becoming a global network of hundreds of people running events, sharing knowledge, and pushing the product in new directions. The US, and especially the West Coast, is central to that momentum. This role exists to help shape that growth in a way that stays true to what made the community work in the first place: real people, genuine enthusiasm, and high-quality in-person experiences. You’ll be stepping in at a moment where there’s already strong pull—and a lot of room to define how it evolves.

What you’ll doAmbassador program (primary focus)
  • Support and grow the US ambassador network

  • Act as the main point of contact for US-based ambassadors

  • Help identify and onboard new ambassadors in key cities

  • Coach ambassadors on running high-quality events

  • Work closely with the Ambassador Program Manager

Events
  • Organize and host community events across the West Coast

  • Set the standard for what a good n8n event looks like

  • Support events tied to n8n leadership visits

  • Contribute to larger initiatives like future US conferences

How you’ll work
  • You’ll collaborate with a Europe based team

  • You’ll operate with a high level of autonomy

  • You’ll need to be comfortable making decisions without a lot of structure

  • You’ll travel regularly across the US (and to Europe several times a year)

What we’re looking forMust-have
  • Based in San Francisco or the broader West Coast area; San Francisco is the center of gravity for this role and requires regular presence and local network building

  • Experience in a community role at a tech company with developer tools or infrastructure DNA

  • Experience with developer-focused event formats (hackathons, workshops, meetups)

  • Strong event organization and hosting skills; comfortable being a public face at events and on camera

  • DevRel or evangelist mindset: high energy, genuinely in the space, able to represent n8n authentically

  • Strong communicator with a finger on the pulse; able to translate community insights back to the team

  • Highly autonomous; comfortable operating independently with a Europe-based team on a 9-hour time difference; willing to start some days early to maintain overlap

  • Startup mindset: willing to move fast and figure things out at pace

Nice-to-have
  • Experience working with ambassadors or community contributors

  • Familiarity with open source communities and their dynamics

  • Prior experience with n8n or comparable workflow automation tools

  • Data-literate; comfortable tracking community health metrics and sharing insights proactively

Why this role exists

The US—especially the West Coast—is a key part of how the n8n community grows.

There’s already strong demand for events and local connections. This role exists to support that demand properly—by improving consistency, supporting ambassadors, and building a more structured presence over time.
