About the Role

We’re looking for a Competitive Intelligence Lead, a senior individual contributor reporting to the Head of Competitive Intelligence, to help operationalize and scale the company’s competitive intelligence capability.

This person will own high-priority competitive analyses, executive-ready insights, and GTM enablement that help Product, Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, and leadership understand where we win, where we’re vulnerable, and how the market is evolving.

This is not a traditional research role. It is a hands-on strategy role at the intersection of Product, GTM, Research, and Leadership. You will turn competitor movements, customer feedback, product data, and market signals into clear recommendations that influence roadmap decisions, positioning, pricing, sales execution, and executive decision-making.

What You'll Do

  • Partner with the Head of Competitive Intelligence to translate the company’s CI strategy into repeatable analyses, operating rhythms, executive materials, and GTM enablement.

  • Own high-priority competitor deep dives, market landscape reviews, pricing analyses, product comparisons, Harvey Ball assessments, feature matrices, and strategic opportunity/risk assessments.

  • Create executive-ready insights that inform product strategy, roadmap prioritization, GTM planning, pricing, and investment decisions.

  • Develop best-in-class competitive messaging, objection handling, battlecards, and enablement content for Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, and Partnerships.

  • Monitor competitor product launches, model releases, acquisitions, partnerships, pricing changes, funding activity, customer announcements, and GTM motions.

  • Synthesize fast-moving and complex market information into clear implications, recommendations, and decision-ready narratives.

  • Partner closely with Product Management to identify areas of differentiation, competitive gaps, customer pain points, and emerging opportunities.

  • Collaborate with Marketing to sharpen positioning, messaging, and campaign strategy based on competitive dynamics.

  • Prepare executive-ready competitive briefs and contribute to board-level market and competitor analyses in partnership with the VP.

  • Help build and maintain dashboards, reporting, and knowledge repositories that make competitive movements visible and actionable across the company.

  • Develop frameworks that evaluate competitors across capabilities, enterprise readiness, developer experience, ecosystem, security, pricing, customer value, and strategic direction.

What We're Looking For:

  • 8-12+ years of experience in competitive intelligence, product strategy, strategy consulting, corporate strategy, market intelligence, product marketing, or a similar analytical role.

  • Experience operating within, scaling, or helping build a competitive intelligence function in a high-growth technology company.

  • Strong understanding of enterprise software, AI platforms, SaaS, cloud infrastructure, developer platforms, or adjacent technical markets.

  • Exceptional analytical and structured thinking skills, with the ability to distill complex markets into clear frameworks, narratives, and recommendations.

  • Experience producing executive-facing strategic analyses, presentations, and recommendations.

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders through clarity, evidence, and judgment.

  • Ability to synthesize quantitative data, qualitative research, customer feedback, win/loss insights, product information, and market intelligence into actionable recommendations.

  • Experience partnering cross-functionally with Product, Sales, Marketing, Finance, Customer Success, and Executive teams.

  • Comfort operating in a fast-moving, ambiguous environment where markets, products, and competitors evolve quickly.

  • Strong ownership mindset with the ability to drive complex workstreams independently as a senior individual contributor.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in AI, machine learning, foundation models, developer tools, or enterprise infrastructure.

  • Familiarity with benchmarking methodologies, win/loss programs, competitive positioning frameworks, and market landscape mapping.

  • Experience supporting enterprise sales teams with competitive enablement, objection handling, and battlecards.

  • Background in management consulting, strategic planning, product marketing, or product strategy.

  • Experience building dashboards, reporting systems, or knowledge repositories for competitive intelligence.

Success in This Role:

  • Become a trusted strategic partner to Product, GTM, and executive teams on competitive dynamics.

  • Delivered high-impact competitive analyses that shape roadmap, positioning, pricing, and sales strategy.

  • Helped establish a single source of truth for competitive insights, market intelligence, and competitor assessments.

  • Created recurring dashboards, reviews, and reporting that make competitive movements visible and actionable.

  • Equipped Sales and Marketing with high-quality competitive content that improves confidence, consistency, and win rates.

  • Helped leadership identify emerging risks and opportunities before they become obvious.

You’ll thrive in this role if you are intellectually curious, highly analytical, and able to connect disparate signals into compelling strategic narratives. You enjoy getting deep into the details, building practical systems, influencing without authority, and helping an organization make sharper decisions through a deep understanding of the competitive landscape.
