🧠 About Legion Health

At Legion Health, we believe everyone deserves fast, affordable, and world-class health care, and we’re developing the AI infrastructure to deliver it ourselves at world scale.

Legion is building autonomous medical care (the AI doctor), starting with psychiatry. Our AI-native care-delivery platform currently automates 95% of the administrative work required for us to deliver direct patient care. We also recently became the first company ever to receive regulatory authorization to let AI prescribe psychiatric medications, allowing us to not only collapse health care’s admin costs but also its clinical labor costs—shifting this industry’s economics from humans to tokens.

Our technical moat is hard to copy—we combine rich data, production AI, doctors in the loop, and end-to-end care operations to deliver measurably better care to a clinically complex patient population. This has helped us produce 25K+ total visits in just 2 years, all while holding ops costs flat and achieving industry-leading patient NPS and retention. While the last generation of healthcare startups made the existing system incrementally more efficient, Legion is rebuilding full-stack care delivery from first principles. Our vision? A 10X better patient experience that’s higher quality, less expensive, and more scalable than ever before. And a 10X better clinician experience that frees our providers to focus on what matters most: caring for patients.

Legion Health is backed by Y Combinator, leading venture capital firms, and founders from Function Health, Modern Health, Everly Health, Trusted Health, Clipboard Health, PatientPing, Sesame Care, Faire, EasyPost, and fuboTV.

Join us as we build the future of health care: faster, higher-quality, and more affordable, powered by doctors and AI working together.

  • Role Type: Growth / Consumer Marketing / Performance Marketing

  • Ideal Experience Level: 5+ years

  • Location: San Francisco

  • US Visa Sponsorship: Yes

🚀 The Opportunity

Legion is hiring a Consumer Growth Leader to build the company’s direct-to-patient growth engine from early traction into a category-defining consumer health machine.

You will own the full consumer funnel: first impression, landing page, intake, eligibility, scheduling, first visit, retention, and reactivation. This is the person who makes Legion unavoidable to patients who need fast, affordable psychiatric care.

This is a player-coach role: you should be comfortable owning strategy, opening dashboards, writing ad hooks, reviewing landing pages, and hiring the team behind you.

The right person has the performance rigor of Hims/Ro, the consumer intuition of Function/Oura, the creator and UGC instincts of Seed/Curology, and the compliance judgment required to market real medical care without losing patient trust.

✅ Responsibilities and Deliverables
  • Own Legion’s consumer growth number across qualified leads, scheduled visits, completed visits, CAC, payback, contribution margin, LTV, retention, and reactivation.

  • Build and scale paid acquisition across Meta, TikTok, Google Ads, YouTube, Reddit, affiliates, podcast/audio, CTV, direct mail, and emerging channels.

  • Create a high-velocity performance creative engine: hooks, scripts, UGC, clinician-led explainers, testimonials, landing page angles, offer tests, and audience-specific narratives.

  • Build a creator and influencer program that drives measurable acquisition, not vanity awareness: whitelisting, Spark Ads, creator briefs, usage rights, clinical review, and performance iteration.

  • Own funnel conversion from ad to appointment: landing pages, quizzes, intake flow, insurance/price messaging, scheduling, trust modules, abandonment recovery, and A/B testing.

  • Build Legion’s SEO and content engine around anxiety, depression, psychiatry access, medication management, refills, insurance-covered psychiatry, and fast mental health care.

  • Own lifecycle marketing across email, SMS, retargeting, abandoned intake, no-show prevention, post-visit engagement, referrals, and winback.

  • Partner with product, data, clinical, legal, compliance, and operations to make growth fast without breaking patient trust, clinical quality, or healthcare marketing rules.

  • Build the growth operating system: weekly channel reviews, creative testing roadmap, CAC/payback dashboard, cohort reporting, attribution, incrementality tests, forecasting, and budget pacing.

  • Hire and manage the first consumer growth team across performance marketing, lifecycle, SEO/content, creative strategy, analytics, agencies, and creator partnerships.

🏆 You’ll Be Successful If You…
  • Build a repeatable consumer acquisition engine that can take Legion from early scale to the next order of magnitude.

  • Improve CAC, conversion rate, visit completion rate, and payback while increasing qualified patient volume.

  • Create a creative machine that ships and learns every week across paid social, creator, landing pages, and lifecycle.

  • Prove which channels are incremental, which are platform-reported noise, and where the next dollar should go.

  • Make Legion trusted by patients, not just clicked on by patients.

  • Translate complex psychiatric care and AI-native medicine into simple, credible, emotionally resonant consumer messaging.

  • Build a team and agency bench that operates with urgency, clean data, tight feedback loops, and no tolerance for vague marketing activity.

  • Scale growth in a way clinical operations can absorb without damaging patient experience, quality, retention, or provider trust.

🧰 Ideal Background and Skills
  • 5+ years in consumer growth, performance marketing, or growth leadership at a high-growth consumer, DTC, marketplace, subscription, telehealth, healthcare, wellness, fintech, or regulated company.

  • Direct ownership of meaningful paid media budgets, ideally 7-figure+ annual spend, with clear accountability for CAC, ROAS, payback, LTV, and contribution margin.

  • Deep hands-on experience with paid social, especially Meta and TikTok; strong working knowledge of Google Search, YouTube, Reddit, affiliates, podcast/audio, CTV, direct mail, and emerging channels.

  • Strong performance creative judgment: you can write hooks, critique scripts, brief creators, identify why an ad worked, and build systems that produce high-quality creative at high volume.

  • Proven experience improving conversion across landing pages, onboarding, quizzes, checkout/intake flows, pricing pages, scheduling flows, and lifecycle touchpoints.

  • High analytical fluency: attribution, incrementality, cohort analysis, retention curves, LTV modeling, experimentation, budget pacing, and forecasting.

  • Comfortable with tools such as Meta Ads, TikTok Ads, Google Ads, GA4, Segment, Mixpanel, Looker/Hex, SQL, HubSpot/Salesforce, Customer.io/Braze/Iterable, Webflow/Next.js landing pages, Optimizely/VWO, Figma, Airtable, and AI tools for creative iteration and analysis.

  • Experience with creator-led advertising, UGC, whitelisting, testimonials, customer stories, and compliance-safe social proof.

  • Healthcare judgment: you understand that patient acquisition is not the same as selling shoes. Claims, targeting, privacy, expectations, clinical review, and trust all matter.

  • Low ego, high urgency, founder-level ownership. You can set strategy on Monday, rewrite ad copy Tuesday, debug attribution Wednesday, and cut wasted spend Thursday.

💰 Compensation & Benefits
  • Salary: $170,000 – $300,000, based on experience

  • Performance Bonus: Variable compensation tied to efficient consumer growth (optional)

  • Early-Stage Equity: Competitive

  • Health Insurance: Medical, dental, and vision benefits

  • Additional Perks: In-person retreats, meal stipends, growth budget, creator/content budget, learning stipend

  • Time Off: Flexible, unlimited vacation policy

  • Work Hours: Flexible

  • Work Setup: Remote, with regular in-person founder/growth sprints

  • Impact: Build the consumer growth engine for a company trying to change health care forever.

  • Autonomy and Learning: Own the metrics, budget, roadmap, team, and operating cadence end-to-end.

  • Growth Opportunities: As we scale, this role will naturally become VP Growth / Chief Growth Officer.
