Your Role

Zip is looking for a Contracts Manager to help scale the legal function through smart process design, strong contract instincts, and modern tooling. This role sits at the center of legal operations and commercial execution. It is ideal for someone who enjoys building systems, improving workflows, and using technology to make contracting faster, cleaner, and more consistent.

The core focus of the role is managing and improving procurement-related workflows within Zip, reviewing and processing routine commercial agreements, and owning key legal tools and automations, including platforms such as DocuSign. This is a strong opportunity for someone who wants to be hands-on with the future of legal work, including the use of AI to automate legal operations and contract workflows.
We are looking for someone who is practical, organized, tech-forward, and energized by the idea of helping legal move faster while improving quality and visibility.

What you’ll do
  • Manage legal support for internal procurement and purchasing workflows, including intake, triage, routing, approvals, and coordination with business stakeholders

  • Review, mark up, and negotiate routine and lower-risk commercial agreements, including:

    • NDAs

    • Vendor agreements

    • Order forms

    • Standard customer and supplier templates

    • Other basic commercial contracts

  • Escalate non-standard, high-risk, or strategic issues to counsel efficiently and with good judgment

  • Build, improve, and maintain contracting workflows that reduce turnaround time and improve consistency across the business

  • Develop and manage automations for legal intake, approvals, document generation, signature workflows, and contract tracking

  • Own day-to-day administration and optimization of key legal tools, including DocuSign and other contract workflow systems

  • Partner with Legal, Procurement, Security, Finance, IT, and business teams to streamline how requests move from submission to signature

  • Help create and maintain templates, clause libraries, playbooks, approval matrices, and self-service resources

  • Track key operational metrics, identify bottlenecks, and recommend process improvements

  • Support implementation and testing of AI-enabled workflows to automate repeatable legal and contract management tasks

  • Help design a scalable legal operations environment that supports growth without adding unnecessary friction

What we’re looking for
  • Meaningful experience in contracts management, legal operations, procurement operations, paralegal work, or a related function

  • Strong familiarity with commercial contracts and the ability to review routine agreements with sound judgment

  • Experience supporting procurement, purchasing, vendor intake, or contract approval workflows

  • Comfort working with contract lifecycle tools, e-signature platforms, workflow automation tools, and systems administration

  • Experience owning or helping manage tools such as DocuSign, CLM platforms, ticketing systems, or workflow orchestration tools

  • Strong operational discipline and attention to detail

  • Ability to manage a high volume of requests while keeping stakeholders informed and work moving

  • A systems mindset, someone who sees recurring work and immediately looks for a better process

  • Interest in AI, automation, and practical applications of technology in legal and contracting workflows

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively across legal and non-legal teams

  • Comfort operating in a fast-moving environment where priorities evolve and speed matters

Nice to have
  • Experience in a high-growth SaaS or enterprise software company

  • Experience with contract lifecycle management platforms and workflow design

  • Familiarity with procurement systems and intake tooling

  • Experience building no-code or low-code automations

  • Exposure to data privacy, security review, or compliance-related contract terms

  • Experience creating dashboards, reporting, or operational metrics for legal workflows

  • Prior involvement in AI-enabled process design or legal tech implementation

How you work
  • You are organized, responsive, and process-oriented

  • You like building systems, not just running them

  • You know how to separate routine issues from issues that need legal escalation

  • You move quickly and help others move quickly

  • You are curious about technology and eager to test better ways of working

  • You care about both speed and quality

  • You see legal operations as a place to create leverage for the whole company

Why this role matters

This role will help Zip scale contracting and procurement support in a way that is fast, efficient, and durable. You will help reduce friction in day-to-day legal work, improve the employee and stakeholder experience, and build automations that allow the legal team to focus on higher-value work. You will also have a direct role in shaping how AI is used to improve legal operations and contract workflows across the company.

The salary range for this role is $140,000-$173,000. The salary for this position is determined based on a variety of job-related factors that may include location, relevant experience, education, or particular skills and expertise.
