TabaBank is seeking an experienced Controller to lead the Bank’s accounting, financial reporting, regulatory reporting, financial controls, and close processes. Reporting to the CFO, this role will ensure the accuracy and integrity of the Bank’s financial records while building scalable accounting infrastructure for an OCC-regulated, payments-focused national bank.

The Controller will play a key role in integrating TabaBank’s accounting and reporting requirements with TabaPay and the broader organization, with particular emphasis on bank accounting, regulatory reporting, and high-volume payments and settlement activity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead accounting operations, month-end/year-end close, and financial statement preparation.
  • Own bank regulatory reporting, including Call Reports and applicable OCC, FDIC, and Federal Reserve filings.
  • Establish and maintain strong internal controls, accounting policies, reconciliations, and audit readiness.
  • Oversee accounting for deposits, investments, Treasury activity, payment processing, merchant acquiring, and settlement transactions.
  • Build scalable reconciliation and financial reporting processes for high-volume payments activity.
  • Manage intercompany accounting, consolidation, tax coordination, and external audit relationships.
  • Partner with Finance, Treasury, Risk, Technology, and Operations to improve systems, data integrity, and reporting infrastructure.
  • Support regulatory examinations and remediation of audit or regulatory findings.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 10+ years of accounting and financial reporting experience, including significant banking or regulated financial services experience.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, bank accounting, regulatory reporting, internal controls, and financial close processes.
  • Experience with Call Reports, external audits, and building scalable accounting processes.
  • Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • CPA strongly preferred.
  • Prior Bank Controller, Assistant Controller, Chief Accounting Officer, or senior bank accounting experience.
  • Experience with OCC- or Federal Reserve-supervised institutions, bank acquisitions, or newly formed banks.
  • Experience with BHC consolidation, Regulation W, and building bank accounting/reporting functions.
  • Payments experience, including merchant acquiring, card-network settlement, PayFacs, ACH/Fedwire, RTP/FedNow, or high-volume transaction accounting.

The pay range for this position is $130,000; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
