Simply put, our promise is progress for every patient journey.

This is the opportunity to help shape a first-in-industry digital health solution alongside a team of mission-driven professionals. We were named one of Inc.'s Best Workplaces in 2025 and recognized on the Inc. 5000 list for two consecutive years (2025 and 2026), and our team genuinely respects and supports each other. We thrive on being fast-paced, innovative, and results-driven, and our employees enjoy a flexible, collaborative work environment, unlimited PTO, stock options, and a growing set of tools and technology to drive innovation for our customers.

The Position

The Controller is responsible for all aspects of accounting operations, month-end close, payroll, AP/AR, tax compliance, and technical accounting under ASC 606/IFRS 15. This role will lead continuous process improvement, implement scalable controls, and act as a key finance partner in a fast-paced environment. Beyond core controllership, the role carries an FP&A mandate: owning Budget v Actual reporting and running the Company’s financial model in conjunction with the CFO. We are looking for a proactive owner — someone who takes an overall interest in the business, continuously improves workflows and reconciliations, and can master a complex billing and revenue cycle.

Key Accountabilities

  • Direct and control all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and all month-, quarter-, and year-end close activities.
  • Ensure compliance with ASC 606/IFRS 15 revenue recognition standards across complex recurring and services revenue streams, developing a deep understanding of the Company’s billing and revenue cycle and working closely with Revenue Operations and Legal to align on contract terms and how they convert to revenue.
  • Lead the preparation of periodic financial statements for management, investors, and auditors.
  • Drive internal Budget v Actual reporting to members of the leadership team, and, in conjunction with the CFO, update the Company’s financial model, test assumptions, and support forecasts.
  • Manage the Company’s finance systems, including NetSuite, Bill, Avalara, and related tools, ensuring accurate data flow, integration, and system utilization.
  • Develop, document, and implement efficient internal controls, scalable processes, and continuous improvements to workflows and reconciliations across all finance functions.
  • Responsible for tax filings, sales/use tax, and regulatory compliance in partnership with external advisors.
  • Manage external audit, tax, and valuation providers and associated audit and compliance activities.
  • Own cash management and risk management policies and enforcement.
  • Supervise, mentor, and grow the accounting team, driving accountability and professional development.
Who You Are

Required Skills:

  • San Francisco based — this will be a hybrid model with 2 days per week in our South San Francisco office.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance. Master’s degree or CPA preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Controller in SaaS or recurring-revenue businesses, with deep technical knowledge of ASC 606/IFRS 15 for SaaS and service contracts.
  • Mastery of NetSuite, Bill, and related accounting/finance systems.
  • Demonstrated experience with complex contracting, invoicing, and revenue recognition — customers with multiple concurrent SOWs, mixed revenue types, and shifting delivery timeframes — and the ability to get their arms completely around the contract-to-revenue lifecycle.
  • Track record of designing and driving accounting and operational process change, ideally in high-growth/PE/start-up environments.
  • Hands-on FP&A experience, including Budget v Actual reporting, forecasting, and building or running an operating financial model.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, scale systems, and deliver timely, accurate financial reporting.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
