Our mission is to make exceptional healthcare accessible anytime, anywhere, for everyone.

At Assort Health, we believe healthcare should feel effortless and connected — quick answers, clear communication, and seamless access to care. That’s why we’re building a new foundation for how patients and providers connect, driven by AI, built to embrace the complexities of healthcare, and tailored to each provider’s unique needs.

Assort is the most comprehensive patient experience platform powered by specialty-specific agentic AI. Assort’s omnichannel AI agents seamlessly integrate with EHR/PMS and complicated provider preferences to eliminate lengthy hold times and inefficiencies that stand in the way of patients getting the care they need.

Since launching in 2023, Assort has managed over 65M+ patient interactions, slashing average hold times from 11 minutes to 1 minute. Our platform now handles calls for thousands of providers with 98%+ resolution rates and 99% scheduling accuracy. Patient satisfaction averages 4.4/5, and we’ve achieved 11× revenue growth since Q4 2024. We’re scaling rapidly and expanding adoption across the entire healthcare industry.

About the Role

We’re looking for an exceptional Controller to build and scale the accounting foundation at a fast-growing, venture-backed healthtech company. This role is ideal for someone who combines the precision of a public accounting background with the creativity to design systems for speed, scalability, and intelligence.

You’ll be responsible for owning all aspects of accounting and financial operations—from monthly close and revenue recognition to systems implementation and process redesign. Reporting to our Head of Finance, you will also work closely with the leadership team to ensure financial integrity as we scale—and to build processes that leverage AI to make the function itself smarter, faster, and more insightful.

What You’ll Do
  • Own the accounting function end-to-end, including GL, AP/AR, revenue recognition, payroll, and financial statement preparation.

  • Design and implement scalable systems as we transition from outsourced bookkeeping to in-house accounting—evaluating and deploying the right ERP and related tools.

  • Lead the month-end close process, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and continuous improvement in speed and quality.

  • Rethink processes using AI and automation—from reconciliations to variance analysis—to make the function an innovation hub, not just a compliance function.

  • Manage audits and compliance (financial statements, tax, and regulatory).

  • Support strategic initiatives, including KPI reporting, budgeting, and investor-ready materials.

  • Operate lean by leveraging latest AI-enabled tooling to support scaling.

What You’ll Bring
  • Active CPA license and 8–12+ years of experience, ideally starting in Big 4 or top-tier audit.

  • Experience in high-growth or venture-backed environments; you know what “building while scaling” feels like.

  • Demonstrated success leading system implementations (ERP, billing, expense, or consolidation tools).

  • Excited to design and automate processes with AI rather than simply recreate stale playbooks

  • Analytical and detail-oriented, but energized by ambiguity and a fast-changing environment.

  • Curious about and comfortable with AI tools and modern finance stacks (e.g., Ramp, Rillet, Tabs, or similar).

  • Strong communicator who brings clarity and thrives in a culture that values intellectual honesty, speed, and excellence.

Why Join Us
  • Be part of a mission-driven team rethinking patient access through cutting-edge AI.

  • Work alongside a founding team with deep experience across product, engineering, GTM, and strategic finance.

  • Help build the accounting foundation from the ground up, shaping the trajectory of a fast-growing company.

  • Join a culture that values clarity, autonomy, and first-principles thinking—and celebrates small wins that drive big progress.
