Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Controller to oversee the company's accounting operations, financial reporting, cash management, and compliance functions. This fully remote position requires a proactive finance professional capable of managing accounting processes, maintaining financial controls, and supporting executive leadership with strategic financial insights.
The ideal candidate will possess strong accounting expertise, leadership skills, and experience working in a fast-paced business environment.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management
- Oversee all accounting operations including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, and General Ledger.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Manage month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Monitor company cash flow and liquidity.
- Develop and maintain budgets and financial forecasts.
- Analyze financial performance and provide recommendations to management.
Compliance & Controls
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable financial regulations.
- Maintain internal controls and accounting procedures.
- Coordinate external audits and tax preparation activities.
- Monitor regulatory and reporting requirements.
- Maintain accurate financial records and documentation.
Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare executive financial reports and KPI dashboards.
- Conduct variance analysis and profitability reviews.
- Support strategic planning and business decision-making.
- Present financial information to ownership and senior management.
Team Leadership
- Supervise accounting staff and outsourced accounting providers.
- Train and mentor accounting personnel.
- Establish and improve accounting workflows and procedures.
- Assist with system implementations and process improvements.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 5+ years of accounting and financial management experience.
- 3+ years in a Controller, Assistant Controller, or Senior Accounting role.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with ERP and accounting systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred
- CPA designation.
- MBA or Master's Degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Experience with multi-entity accounting.
- Experience working in a fully remote environment.
- Knowledge of international transactions and treasury management.
Technical Requirements

- Ability to attend virtual meetings during business hours.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, QuickBooks, NetSuite, Sage, or similar accounting platforms.
