WSR Insurance Services is seeking a Commercial lines account manager. The Commercial lines account manager is a key member of the service team and assists with managing a book of business.

You’ll play a key role in translating department priorities into daily action while supporting growth, quality, and accountability across service teams. 


About the role: 

The Account Manager is responsible for managing an assigned book of commercial insurance business while delivering high-quality service and ensuring compliance with carrier and agency standards. This mid-level licensed role serves as the primary point of contact for clients and works closely with Sales staff, underwriters, and internal teams throughout the policy lifecycle, including renewals, claims coordination, and ongoing account maintenance. The Account Manager handles more complex accounts, analyzes coverage needs, and plays a key role in maintaining strong client relationships while supporting retention and growth efforts. This role may also provide guidance and support to Assistant Account Managers. Regular attendance and strong attention to detail are essential to success in this position.

Key Responsibilities:

  •  Build and maintain strong client relationships by serving as a primary point of contact for assigned accounts; respond to client needs, provide guidance, and ensure a high level of service 
  • Manage the renewal process, including reviewing current coverage, preparing renewal information, working with carriers, and ensuring policies are updated and completed on time 
  • Support client retention and growth by identifying coverage needs, assisting Producers with new business opportunities, and helping maintain long-term client relationships 
  • Review accounts for coverage gaps or concerns and collaborate with Producers in developing recommendations, helping ensure clients maintain appropriate and adequate coverage based on their operations 
  • Report all new claims and manage ongoing claims as needed 
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date account documentation in the agency management system, including notes, policy changes, and client communications 
  • Follow agency workflows and procedures to ensure consistency, compliance, and quality in all service-related activities 
  • Stay current on industry knowledge, including coverage options, carrier guidelines, and market changes, to effectively support clients and the team 
  • Provide guidance and support to junior team members as needed 
  • Assist with training and onboarding of new team members 
  • Support the team during high-volume periods or absences, helping to ensure service levels are maintained across the department 
  • Participate in special projects and other duties as assigned 

Requirements

Select Business Unit (applies to SBU desk(s) only) 

  • Manage Select Business Unit (SBU) accounts, ensuring timely quoting, binding, and servicing in accordance with agency standards 
  • Write new business referred by producers, including completing applications, securing quotes, and coordinating with carriers to finalize coverage  

Educations and Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required 
  • Maintain a current California Property & Casualty Insurance License in good standing 
  • Insurance designation(s) preferred 
  • Minimum of 4 years of commercial insurance experience, including account management responsibilities, or equivalent combination of knowledge, education, and experience
