About Astra

Astra is building mission-critical infrastructure for moving money at scale. Our platform processes billions in annual transaction volume with 99.9%+ uptime, powering real-time transfers, bank debits, card disbursements, and complex financial compliance systems. We provide APIs and automation tools that enable businesses to move money programmatically while maintaining strict regulatory requirements.

The Role

As Astra's first Product Marketing Manager, you will be at the center of how we bring our payments infrastructure to market. This is more than a traditional product marketing position — it's an opportunity to build the messaging, positioning, and go-to-market strategy that will define how customers understand and adopt Astra's platform.

You'll own the full spectrum of product marketing: crafting compelling narratives around our API products, enabling our sales team to win deals, developing rich content that demonstrates real impact, and ensuring our positioning cuts through in a crowded fintech landscape. You'll also partner closely with the leadership team to inform roadmap priorities based on market feedback and to build marketing initiatives that drive pipeline and revenue.

Because this is an early hire on the go-to-market team, you'll have direct input into our messaging framework, the content we create, and the sales playbooks we build. You'll collaborate with leaders across sales, product, engineering, and customer success to ensure that Astra's value proposition resonates as powerfully as our technology performs.

This role is perfect for someone with the marketing expertise to drive results today and the strategic vision to build scalable go-to-market systems for tomorrow.

What You’ll Do
  • Go-to-Market Strategy: Develop and execute comprehensive launch plans for new payment products and platform features, coordinating across product, sales, and marketing teams.

  • Content Development: Produce whitepapers, case studies, blog posts, webinar content, and email campaigns that educate the market and drive inbound demand.

  • Positioning & Messaging: Create differentiated positioning that translates our technical capabilities into clear business value for target buyers — from technical decision-makers to finance leaders.

  • Sales Enablement: Build pitch decks, battle cards, demo scripts, and objection-handling guides that empower our sales team to close deals faster and with higher confidence.

  • Market Intelligence: Conduct ongoing customer research, competitive analysis, and win/loss analysis to inform product strategy and refine our messaging.

  • Customer Advocacy: Develop compelling success stories and ROI narratives that demonstrate how Astra powers financial operations at scale.

  • Product Evangelism: Represent Astra online and in-person, including industry conferences and events, building credibility and thought leadership in the payments ecosystem.

  • Launch Execution: Own cross-functional launch timelines, ensuring coordinated execution across product releases, sales training, campaign activation, and customer communications.

What We’re Looking For

Required Experience

  • 3-5 years of product marketing experience, ideally at a fast-growing B2B SaaS, fintech, or payments company.

  • Strong understanding of the payments ecosystem — processors, networks, compliance requirements, and how businesses evaluate infrastructure providers.

  • Proven track record of successful product launches with measurable impact on pipeline, revenue, or market awareness.

  • Exceptional storytelling ability. You can take complex technical concepts (APIs, webhooks, reconciliation flows) and make them compelling to both technical and business audiences across diverse industries and use cases.

  • Ambition to structure and systems 0 to 1, and comfort in creating frameworks, templates, and playbooks that scale.

  • Experience collaborating with Product, Sales, and Engineering teams to align on priorities and drive outcomes.

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or related field (MBA is a plus but not required).

Key Skills
  • Payments Knowledge: Deep familiarity with payment rails (ACH, RTP, card networks), compliance frameworks (KYC/AML, PCI), and how API-first infrastructure works.

  • Marketing Tools: Proficiency with CRM systems, marketing automation platforms, analytics tools, and presentation software.

  • Content Creation: Strong writing and editing skills across formats – technical documentation, executive presentations, campaign copy, and social media.

  • Data-Driven Mindset: Ability to define success metrics, track campaign performance, and use data to optimize messaging and tactics.

  • Developer Marketing: Understanding of how to market to technical buyers; bonus points for experience with developer-focused content or community building.

  • Project Management: Ability to manage multiple launches and initiatives simultaneously while maintaining quality and meeting deadlines.

Preferred Experience
  • Fintech or Infrastructure Marketing: Previous work marketing B2B fintech products, payment APIs, or developer-focused infrastructure platforms.

  • Sales Partnership: Direct experience enabling sales teams, participating in customer calls, and supporting enterprise deal cycles.

  • Customer Research: Conducting win/loss interviews, customer advisory boards, or voice-of-customer programs to inform strategy.

  • Competitive Intelligence: Building and maintaining competitive battlecards and market positioning frameworks in fast-moving categories.

  • Demand Generation Collaboration: Working with growth marketing teams to optimize campaigns, account-based marketing strategies, and conversion funnels.

  • Startup Experience: Building marketing functions from the ground up in high-growth environments where you wore multiple hats.

Why This Role Matters

Product marketing is the bridge between what we build and the value customers realize. Every product launch, every sales conversation, and every customer decision depends on clear positioning, compelling narratives, and market credibility. As our Product Marketing Manager, you won't just support product releases – you'll be shaping how the market understands Astra's role in the future of money movement.

Your work will:

  • Enable Astra to win against competitors by articulating differentiated value that resonates with buyers.

  • Give our sales team the confidence and tools they need to close complex deals with enterprise customers.

  • Create market awareness and thought leadership that fuels our long-term growth and positioning.

By joining now, you'll have an outsized impact on Astra's go-to-market trajectory and the chance to leave your mark on a company redefining how money moves.

What We Offer
  • Competitive compensation with equity in a growing fintech company.

  • Remote-first culture with flexible working arrangements

  • Small team, big impact — your work directly supports Astra’s ability to scale responsibly

  • Professional growth opportunities in compliance and risk management

  • Mission-driven — build infrastructure that powers financial innovation while meeting the highest regulatory standards

Remote Work and Culture

Astra is a remote-first company hiring only within the U.S. We value thoughtful collaboration, clarity, and initiative. We’re proud to be an equal opportunity employer and are committed to building a diverse and inclusive team.

How to Apply

If you’re an accounting professional who thrives on building structure and driving clarity in a fast-growing fintech, we’d love to hear from you.

Please submit with your application:

  1. Resume highlighting relevant product marketing and payments experience

  2. Brief cover letter (300 words max) answering: "What's a product launch or go-to-market campaign you're most proud of, and why did it succeed?"

  3. A writing sample that demonstrates your ability to explain technical concepts to business audiences (case study, whitepaper, blog post, etc.)
