For over 180 years, New York Life Insurance Company has helped people achieve financial security and peace of mind. As a Fortune 100 company and the largest mutual life insurer in the United States, we are now transforming how we deliver on that mission, building AI-enabled, next-generation digital experiences that redefine how we connect with the people and institutions we serve. This is a rare opportunity to shape that future from the inside.
Position Overview
NYL.com is evolving from a traditional corporate website into a structured, composable digital platform - an enterprise asset that serves as New York Life's authoritative content origin and owned experience engine across human and AI-driven channels. As AI changes how information is discovered and consumed, dotcom's role shifts from destination to origin, ensuring the company's content authority and experience quality wherever audiences encounter New York Life. Enabled by a move to cloud-based headless architecture, the platform is being reconceived as a multi-audience, intent-driven system that delivers dynamically composed experiences, deepens interactive capabilities like interaction tools, calculators, and conversion pathways, and generates data signals that inform content strategy, personalization, and business decisions.
The Senior Director of NYL.com Product Management leads this evolution across all audience segments, owning the overall product vision, roadmap, and prioritization for NYL.com as a multi-audience enterprise platform. This role manages a team of audience-focused product managers covering consumer, institutional, and corporate experiences, and is accountable for cross-audience coherence, platform governance, and the frameworks that define how work is categorized, prioritized, and delivered. The Senior Director serves as the primary product partner to AI Experience Product Management and coordinates across content strategy, content operations, UX/design, technology, and production/account management.
Key Responsibilities
Product Strategy and Roadmap
  • Define and maintain the overall product vision and multi-year roadmap for NYL.com, ensuring alignment with enterprise growth objectives across all audience segments.
  • Own cross-audience prioritization of product investments, balancing consumer, institutional, and corporate needs against shared platform capabilities.
  • Develop business cases for major platform initiatives, including redesigns, new capability introductions, and infrastructure-driven opportunities enabled by AI, cloud, and headless architecture migration.
  • Establish requirements standards and acceptance criteria frameworks that audience-focused product managers apply consistently across their portfolios.
  • Own the dotcom-side requirements and coordination for the AI SEO/AI Acquisition program.
  • Embed AI-readiness as a foundational product principle, ensuring NYL.com's content architecture, metadata, and structured data are optimized for consumption by AI search engines, AI agents, and internal AI systems alongside human audiences.
  • Foster an AI-augmented product management practice across the team, proactively adopting AI tools for analytics, requirements development, content auditing, testing, and optimization to accelerate decision-making and output quality.
  • Monitor shifts in user behavior and content discovery driven by AI, including changes in search patterns, AI-mediated referral traffic, and conversational information seeking, and translate those insights into product strategy.

Audience Experiences and Capabilities
  • Ensure coherence and quality across all NYL.com audience segments through shared information architecture, navigation standards, and component governance.
  • Oversee capability strategy across audience portfolios, ensuring appropriate differentiation where audiences require it and consistency where they don't.
  • Drive shared platform capabilities: cross-audience IA and navigation, analytics architecture and reporting framework, WCAG accessibility compliance standards, site performance and Core Web Vitals, and design system governance in partnership with Enablement and Experience Design.
  • Serve as the primary product partner to AI Experience Product Management for integrating AI capabilities into NYL.com, ensuring dotcom readiness for new AI-driven experiences.

Cross-functional Coordination
  • Coordinate with the Enablement team lead for solutioning, backlog planning, and engineering capacity allocation across audience segments.
  • Partner with Production/Account Management leadership to maintain the work tiering framework and ensure clear routing of work between product management and production.
  • Partner with Authoring/Content Operations for strategic and optimization work when needed; ensure clear delineation from production-directed content work.
  • Partner with Production/Account Management, Experience Design, and Design Operations on requirements handoff protocols, design review cadence, and acceptance processes.
  • Partner with Content Strategy and Content Operations to ensure dotcom's platform and delivery infrastructure leverages and reinforces the enterprise content model.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships with Digital Marketing leadership, Technology, business unit leaders, and enterprise partners including with counterparts managing tier 1 products in Field, Purchase, Service, and equivalents across NYL business units.

Governance and Operations
  • Align on the work tiering framework that defines how work is categorized, prioritized, and routed between product management, production/account management, and authoring/content operations.
  • Hold overall prioritization authority across all NYL.com development work, resolving cross-audience and cross-tier conflicts.
  • Advocate for technical debt reduction and platform health alongside feature delivery.
  • Partner with Enablement and AI Experience Product Management partners for vendor and platform relationship oversight from a product perspective.
  • Accountable for budget for NYL.com investments.
