AccuWeather is seeking a Creative Director to join its TV Broadcast and Visual Content team. 

Position Overview

The Creative Director – TV Broadcast & Visual Content is responsible for the overall creative vision, design strategy, and execution of visual content across AccuWeather’s broadcast products and media platforms. This role oversees the development of graphics, animations, templates, demonstrations, branding, and visual storytelling for ImmersiCast, StoryTeller NewsPro, WeatherShow Creator, and other broadcast technology solutions.

In addition, the Creative Director leads the creative development of product placement advertising, promotional campaigns, and branded content across television, digital platforms, social media, trade shows, sales presentations, and the AccuWeather Network. The position serves as the central creative leader, ensuring a consistent, innovative, and compelling visual identity across all broadcast and media properties.

Key Responsibilities

Broadcast Product Creative Leadership

  • Define and maintain the creative vision for ImmersiCast, StoryTeller NewsPro, WeatherShow Creator, and future broadcast products.
  • Lead the design and development of graphics packages, motion graphics, templates, augmented reality content, virtual set elements, and interactive experiences.
  • Oversee creation of demonstration content used for product launches, customer presentations, NAB, IBC, and other industry events.
  • Ensure visual consistency across all broadcast products and client-facing deliverables.
  • Collaborate with Product Management, Development, Sales, and Customer Success teams to align creative assets with product capabilities and customer needs.
  • Develop innovative visual storytelling techniques that showcase weather, news, sports, elections, traffic, and other data-driven content.

Creative Team Management

  • Lead, mentor, and manage designers, motion graphic artists, animators, and creative contractors.
  • Establish creative standards, workflows, and best practices.
  • Prioritize projects and allocate resources across multiple initiatives and deadlines.
  • Conduct creative reviews and provide feedback to ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Product Marketing & Advertising

  • Direct creative development of product marketing campaigns for broadcast solutions.
  • Create compelling visual assets for product launches, promotional videos, websites, social media, digital advertising, trade publications, and sales collateral.
  • Oversee branding initiatives for new products and services.
  • Ensure marketing materials clearly communicate product value propositions and competitive differentiation.

Product Placement & Sponsorship Content

  • Lead creative execution of product placement advertising across television, digital, streaming, and network platforms.
  • Develop branded content opportunities and sponsorship integrations for the AccuWeather Network.
  • Work with sales and advertising teams to create visually engaging sponsor-supported content.
  • Ensure sponsor integrations maintain editorial quality and brand standards.

AccuWeather Network Creative Oversight

  • Support network programming with creative graphics, animation packages, and visual enhancements.
  • Develop new visual concepts to improve viewer engagement and storytelling.
  • Collaborate with producers, meteorologists, and network leadership on special programming initiatives.
  • Identify emerging technologies and creative trends that can enhance on-air presentation.

Industry Innovation

  • Stay informed on industry trends in broadcast graphics, augmented reality, virtual production, AI-assisted design, motion graphics, and interactive storytelling.
  • Evaluate and recommend new creative tools, technologies, and workflows.
  • Represent the company at industry events, customer meetings, and trade shows when appropriate.
Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Broadcast Design, Motion Graphics, Visual Communications, Marketing, or related field.
  • 7+ years of professional creative experience in broadcast television, media, advertising, or digital content creation.
  • 3+ years of leadership or creative management experience.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in broadcast graphics, animation, branding, and visual storytelling.
  • Experience leading creative projects from concept through final delivery.
  • Strong understanding of television production workflows and broadcast graphics systems.

Preferred

  • Experience with weather, news, sports, or live television environments.
  • Knowledge of augmented reality, virtual sets, real-time graphics, and interactive presentation systems.
  • Experience supporting product launches and B2B technology marketing.
  • Familiarity with Brainstorm, Unreal Engine, Vizrt, Chyron, Ross, Adobe Creative Suite, Cinema 4D, Blender, or similar platforms.
