About the Role
As Creative Director, you will be responsible for setting the vision for how Dolls Kill will show up across every brand touch point and working across all creative disciplines to bring that vision to life. Your mission will be to ensure that Dolls Kill breaks through the clutter and connects with our audiences on an emotional level, inspiring them to express themselves unapologetically. We have very few rules when it comes to creative, and we want you to take full advantage of that, innovating, taking risks, and provoking to keep the brand’s uber-progressive edge sharp.
You will report to the CMO, working closely with the executive, marketing, merchandise, and product teams to shepherd the brand experience as it is developed across all groups. And you will inspire a team of styling, photography, videography, and design creatives who love the brand and unbridled creative expression that we value.
Responsibilities
- Set creative vision: use an understanding of the Dolls Kill customer, their lifestyle, and how the brand fits in to craft an aspirational brand image
- Develop the company’s brand storytelling capability across media types, channels, and touch points
- Find creative boundaries to push and push them, maintaining the brand’s creative edge
- Lead concept development for/execution of brand and product marketing campaigns, including delivering materials for advertising, the website, email, and social media
- Lead concept development for/execution of complex immersive brand experiences: experiential marketing and retail, including both in-store events and new stores
- Establish/apply design systems for the brand, sub-brands, and other properties for use across the website, digital/social marketing, in-store, and experiential marketing
- Oversee development of all creative assets for ecommerce, including leading the styling, hair and makeup, photography and videography functions
- Build, lead, and maintain vitality of a world-class creative team which is inspired by the brand and the unparalleled creative opportunities that we offer
- Partner with the Creative Operations team on resourcing, scheduling, and budgets while improving processes and efficiencies
- Present everything from creative concepts to finished work to the CEO and executive team
Requirements
- A creative thinker who can inspire our community through innovative and fearless creative
- 10+ years of relevant experience
- Experience with fashion, ecommerce, and/or edgy brands a strong plus
- A startup person: ability to operate in a fast-moving environment that requires one to be hands on with large scope
- Flexible and adaptable: comfortable working through ambiguity and managing ever-changing priorities
- Self-starter who can manage multiple priorities at once and learn new things with little oversight
- A positive, motivating leader, able to manage and nurture an emerging team of talented creatives
