About the RoleWe're seeking a Creative Lead to define how Unto Labs shows up in the world. You will own the full creative stack, including brand narrative, messaging, motion, design systems, and campaign strategy. Translate deeply technical infrastructure into work that resonates emotionally and drives compelling messaging. Collaborate at the intersection of product, engineering, and go-to-market to build the creative function from scratch. Create content for both developers and mainstream users while positioning Unto Labs as both a serious infrastructure provider and a distinct consumer brand.
The ideal candidate has experience creating memorable and innovative creative work for high-craft brands or technology-focused organizations, with personal projects that demonstrate a consistent passion for building and storytelling. You have experience shaping messaging for deeply technical products and communicating to a broad audience.
ResponsibilitiesDefine and evolve Unto Labs' brand identity, visual language, messaging, and creative direction across all channels
Lead the development and refinement of core brand messaging for key audiences across developer, partner, and mainstream user communities
Design and deliver campaign creative for product launches, developer events, and ecosystem milestones
Build design systems and templates that scale across web, social, print, and event collateral
Translate complex technical concepts, such as consensus protocols, cryptography, and distributed systems, into compelling and understandable visual and narrative stories for non-technical audiences
Collaborate closely with engineers and product leads to highlight the story behind what we're building
Lead creative efforts for press and major launches, coordinating visuals, messaging, copy, and multimedia for maximum impact
5+ years in a creative role spanning brand, messaging, and multimedia, ideally at a technology company or creative studio
Experience shaping stories and messaging for highly technical products to both developer and mainstream audiences
Proven ability to build a brand's visual and messaging identity from early stage
Active side projects, personal creative work, or independent practice
Proficient in modern design tools (Figma, After Effects, Premiere, or similar)
Comfortable operating in ambiguity and moving quickly at a startup
Experience in video production, such as concepting, shooting, editing
Experience in graphic and motion design for brands, campaigns, and editorial
Portfolio demonstrating range: brand campaigns, video, motion graphics, and editorial design
Shape a brand from zero at the frontier of distributed systems, the future of financial innovation, and blockchain infrastructure
Work directly with a founding team of world-class engineers to position innovative technology for widespread adoption
Own the entire creative function as an early hire with substantial influence over company direction
