Responsibilities
- Act as a trusted connector within the developer, startup, and technical creator ecosystem, building relationships with the people and communities shaping what's next.
- Discover and support emerging technical creators, builders, and community leaders before they're obvious, helping grow the next generation of voices working with Microsoft.
- Help technical creators create their best work by providing the relationships, context, support, and opportunities needed to tell meaningful stories with Microsoft technologies.
- Design and operate always-on programs, activations, and community experiences that bring technical audiences together and create meaningful opportunities for connection, collaboration, and participation.
- Partner across Microsoft to connect community insights, creator ecosystems, and business priorities into programs that resonate with technical audiences.
- Elevate community stories and builder achievements into moments that earn attention, drive conversation, and strengthen Microsoft's presence within developer culture.
- Build the measurement frameworks that help Microsoft understand community health, creator ecosystem growth, advocacy, influence, and long-term business impact.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Economics, Public Relations, or related field AND 1+ year(s) integrated marketing (e.g., digital, relationship, social media, campaign), event management, marketing strategy, business planning, marketing operations, or related work experience
- OR equivalent experience?
- Master’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Computer Science, Media, or related field AND 3+ years relevant experience in community management, creator or influencer marketing, developer ecosystems, technical audience engagement, partnerships, social media, or integrated marketing OR equivalent experience.
- 8+ years of experience in community management, developer relations, advocacy or ambassador programs, or a closely related growth or marketing
- Fluency with community platforms and tooling such as Discord, Reddit, forums, Circle, Bevy, Discourse, or Khoros, alongside listening, analytics, and CRM
- Demonstrated track record of scaling an online community or advocacy program from recruitment and onboarding through recognition, retention, and measurable business impact.
- Experience designing or running community programs, events, meetups, hackathons, workshops, ambassador programs, creator cohorts, or other audience engagement initiatives.
- Experience identifying, recruiting, onboarding, and developing creators, advocates, or community members as part of a broader marketing or community strategy.
- Familiarity with developer, startup, AI, open-source, creator, and internet culture, with a strong understanding of how technical audiences discover, trust, and engage with content.
- Ability to translate complex technical topics into accessible, credible, and compelling content opportunities for creators, communities, and broader audiences.
Integrated Marketing IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $86,100 - $169,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $113,300 - $187,400 per year.
