Compensation

Compensation includes a base salary in the range of $74,000.00 - $111,000.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.

The Curriculum Development and Instructional Senior Designer is responsible for designing the approach to training projects and developing the curriculum and content needed to support the CAI OpEx business. This role participates in Go-To-Market and Product Readiness meetings, consults on L&D recommendations and timelines, and prepares their peers for upcoming changes.  

The Curriculum Development and Instructional Senior Designer will have advanced proficiency in rapid instructional design tools and on-demand content development (software) and processes (theories and models), as well as adult learning theory. They will also have experience writing learning objectives and assessments using multiple levels of Bloom’s Taxonomy and Kirkpatrick’s Model. The Curriculum Development and Instructional Senior Designer will build and maintain strong partnerships with the Operational Excellence team as well as other departments and levels to develop and provide technologically innovative, engaging, and instructionally sound learning deliverables for the organization.

A team player who designs and develops learning solutions by:

  • Executing various industry standard design methodologies such as ADDIE, SAM, or Rapid content development (RCD)

  • Following industry standard (ADDIE) instructional design practices

  • Preparing clear learning objectives that reflect the required performance

  • Consulting with SMEs and boundary partners to create instructor led, self study, and/or online instructional content that effectively engages the learner

  • Producing innovative training solutions with a view to continuous improvement

Partner with Manager and other Instructional Designers to:

  • Develop instructional plan/design documents for review and approval

  • Develop project plans, timelines, and issue logs

  • Estimate scope and resource requirements for new learning development requests.

Takes a lead role in the Instructional Design Group to:

  • Provide quality assurance and peer reviews on design plans and instructional materials.

  • Role model quality standards for other instructional designers in the team through peer coaching.

  • Review and edit the work of other instructional designers to ensure adherence to standards of instructional design.

  • Manage and work on multiple complex projects concurrently.

  • Manage contract staff and Instructional Designers as needed.

  • Mentor Instructional Designers as needed.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related discipline and 4 years’ experience in a learning and development role. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a master’s degree and 2 years’ experience; a Ph.D. and up to 1 year of experience; or 8 years’ experience in a related field.

  • A minimum of five years experience designing and developing instructor led, self-study, and web-based instruction materials.

  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communications skills.

  • Strong Instructional Design capabilities.

  • Strong CBT Development capabilities.

  • Demonstrated ability to apply principles of adult learning, learning styles, and various instructional design approaches and processes to learning content.

  • Demonstrated ability to identify user needs, analyze and logically organize complex information, and accurately transform complex bodies of information into professionally designed, engaging and effective programs.

  • Demonstrated ability to work on multiple, complex projects; strong project management and follow-up skills; strong ability to multi-task and continually prioritize changing project tasks/deliverables.

  • Proven leadership capabilities.

Undergraduate degree in instructional design, or related field
