Job Description:

This is a customer application engineer position in the MPS San Jose office. The candidate will be working on the products for the memory market, specifically DIMM market.

The products include, but are not limited to, customized/non-customized Power Management IC, standalone and digital interface converters, etc. Most of the products are below 30V for the voltage range, and below 100W for the power range.

The candidate will be supporting the key memory customers, understanding the customer’s issue and requirements, planning action items, communicating with MPS internal different departments, driving actions to meet customer requirement and resolve customer concern. The goal of the candidate is to achieve and secure the design in of the products.

The candidates having experience with above products from technical and marketing perspective would be preferred for the position.

Essential functions:

  • Communicate with memory customers to understand the market and their technology, product roadmap and production plan
  • Understand and support customers’ questions, concerns and requests from technical perspective
  • Plan action items to resolve customer issues in a timely manner
  • Collaborate with internal departments such as design, quality, package, and failure analysis teams to ensure customer satisfaction

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience on customer communication and support is highly desired
  • Previous experience of application engineer or technical field application engineer roles is preferred
  • Previous experience working on storage and memory market is preferred
  • 5+ years of technical experience in switch mode power supply (step-down converters), PMIC products is highly desired
  • Fluent communication skills in English
  • Excellent writing and presentation skills
  • Self-motivated with a strong desire to achieve design-in success for our products.
  • Previous experience in a power supply manufacturer or power management IC company preferred
  • BSEE or higher required

Pay is based on market location and may vary based on factors including experience, skills, education and other job-related reasons. The base salary range for this position in California is $120,000 - $150,000.
