TRUMPF is looking for a Customer Support Engineer in California to help customers get the most from our sheet metal processing and laser technology solutions. In this role, you will combine technical know-how, hands-on, on-site technical service for CNC laser cutting/bending/punching machines, and customer communication to support machine performance, troubleshoot issues, and deliver a great service experience.

What you will do

  • Support customers on-site and remotely with troubleshooting, repairs, and machine performance questions.
  • Act as a trusted technical resource for TRUMPF machines, capabilities, and operating best practices.
  • Use remote diagnostic tools to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on CNC laser cutting machines
  • Work with applications, engineering, production, and other internal teams to solve technical problems.
  • Provide customer training on machine operation and basic repair tasks.
  • Document service work clearly and accurately, including mission reports, expense reports, and safety records.
  • Manage assigned tools, equipment, vehicle, and parts inventory responsibly.
  • Travel up to 50% as needed to support customers, including overnight and occasional weekend trips.

What you bring

  • Associate degree, technical school degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in a manufacturing, sheet metal, or technical service environment is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of electronics, wiring, mechanics, hydraulics, software, or CNC equipment
  • Comfort using Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint, along with drafting or modeling software.
  • Strong communication skills and a customer-focused mindset.
  • Ability to organize your schedule, manage multiple priorities, and work independently.
  • A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Willingness to lift up to 70 pounds and operate forklifts or overhead cranes when needed.

Pay Range: $34.41 to $57.56
