  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on competitor strategies, industry trends, and emerging risks/opportunities.
  • Translate external insights into clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Maintain a forward-looking view of competitors' products, pricing, underwriting, and distribution strategies.
  • Monitor key industry developments including product innovation, regulation, reinsurance, and digital capabilities.

  • Act as the primary intelligence partner to Life Insurance Product Development.
  • Support Corporate Strategy, Underwriting, Distribution, and Finance with targeted insights.
  • Contribute to initiatives such as product development, pricing strategy, and strategic planning.
  • Own relationships with key industry organizations (e.g., LIMRA, LISSIG) and represent New York Life externally.
  • Build and leverage a strong network across peer companies and industry experts.
  • Oversee delivery of core intelligence outputs, including newsletters, peer mutual sales analysis, Comdex reporting, and benchmarking reports.
  • Ensure insights are clear, relevant, and actionable.
  • Oversee competitive intelligence tools, data sources, and subscriptions.
  • Build scalable processes for collecting, synthesizing, and distributing insights.
  • Leverage analytics and AI capabilities to enhance intelligence delivery, including dashboards, self-service tools, and AI-enabled querying (e.g., automated charts and insights).
  • Manage and develop a competitive intelligence analyst.
  • Establish clear priorities, workflows, and quality standards.
  • Build a scalable capability and foster a culture of external awareness and curiosity.

What You'll Bring:
  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • 15+ years of life insurance experience across competitive intelligence, product, or strategy roles.
  • Deep knowledge of products, pricing, underwriting, and distribution.
  • Strong understanding of the competitive landscape.
  • Established industry network.
  • Experience with LIMRA or similar organizations preferred.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.
