At the end of this thrilling journey, you'll become a proud member of Hack The Box, with the ultimate mission to help cybersecurity professionals and organizations enhance their cyber-attack readiness. Get ready for an exciting adventure into the world of cybersecurity! 🚀🔒💻

✨The core mission of the Data Analyst

As a Data Analyst, you will be the analytical engine behind our most important client relationships. Your mission is to use data to prove the ROI of our cybersecurity training platform. You will navigate complex datasets using SQL to uncover how our training impacts human risk, then use your storytelling expertise to present these insights to executive level stakeholders.

🏢 Location &  Work Mode:
  • US (East Coast preferred)
  • Fully Remote
🍺 The fellowship you’ll be joining:

This role sits on our Federal Sales team, reporting to our SVP of Global Federal & SLED. The team consists of account executives and collaborates closely with BDRs, Solutions Engineers, and Customer Success. The role works closely with the Data Engineering team.

⚔️ Technology tools & weapons you’ll be using:
  • Looker (primary) and Tableau
  • SQL on BigQuery (Snowflake a plus / legacy)
  • Python for analysis, automation, and statistics
  • Excel for modeling and ad-hoc work
  • Comfort using AI-assisted tooling (LLM copilots) to accelerate analysis and prototyping
🚀 The adventures that await you after becoming a Data Analyst at Hack The Box:
  • Strategic client consultation — Partner with Federal agency stakeholders to translate compliance and security needs into data-driven success plans, turning USG leadership's business requirements into technical data solutions.
  • ROI modeling & data storytelling — Use SQL and Python to extract and shape large datasets, surfacing correlations between training engagement and reduced security incidents. Build interactive Looker/Tableau dashboards and presentations that make ROI legible at every level of the USG.
  • Actionable behavioral insights — Run deep-dive analysis on user behavior and simulation logs to identify high-risk cohorts, and give clients tailored recommendations to optimize their training curriculum based on engagement signals (completion velocity, adoption, drop-off).
  • Technical data integrity — Maintain rigorous data hygiene by auditing the flow of training telemetry from platform to reporting layer. Use Python/SQL for rapid prototyping of risk models and ad-hoc "what-if" analysis for client presentations.
  • Stakeholder & relationship management — Part of Executive Business Reviews (EBRs) where you will discuss the client’s progress and way forward, and partner with Product and Data Engineering to ensure platform telemetry keeps pace with the market's reporting needs.
🏆 Skills, knowledge, and experience points required to unlock the role of Data Analyst at Hack The Box:

Technical Mastery

  • Data Manipulation: Can translate raw data into useful insights for executives; Expert-level SQL or Snowflake for querying complex relational databases; Experience with Python for data cleaning, automation, and statistical analysis.
  • Visualization: Mastery of Looker, or other visualization tools, to create "at-a-glance" executive views and deep-dive operational reports.
  • Tools: High proficiency in Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, modeling).

Soft Skills & Storytelling

  • Communication: Can command a room of senior leaders and explain technical data clearly and persuasively.
  • Presentation: Builds decks that tell a cohesive story — not just charts, but what they mean for the mission and for risk.
  • Stakeholder management: Skilled at managing expectations across diverse departments.
