What is Aurelius Systems?
Aurelius Systems is a directed energy company developing edge-deployed laser systems for cUAS applications We shoot down drones with laser guns
Why?
The US and our allies have prepared for a world where we will be fighting increasingly large and sophisticated systems (Planes, Aircraft carriers, etc), but this world never came. The future of warfare will involve large numbers of small-scale and mass-manufacturable drones, and we aren't prepared to defend our country from these threats abroad or domestically. Aurelius Systems has set out to address this problem by equipping the US and our allies with the systems they need to fight current and future conflicts in a scalable and cost-effective manner.
Role Overview:
We need a contractor to annotate and label visual data for our counter-drone laser targeting systems. This is critical path work—our ML models depend on high-quality labeled data to identify and track drone threats in real-world conditions. You'll receive written instructions and then work independently to process image/video data with precision and speed.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Annotate visual data (images/video) following detailed labeling guidelines
- Identify and label drone targets, environmental conditions, and system performance indicators
- Follow standardized annotation protocols to ensure data quality and consistency
- Meet throughput targets while maintaining labeling accuracy
- Flag ambiguous cases or data quality issues for review
Qualifications:
- Available to start immediately (ideally tomorrow)
- Detail-oriented with ability to follow written instructions precisely
- Can work independently after initial training
- Comfortable with repetitive tasks requiring sustained attention
- Reliable internet connection and computer setup
- Prior data annotation or labeling experience
- Familiarity with ML/computer vision workflows
- Background in defense, aerospace, or technical fields
