Data Engineer IV

itD is seeking a Data Engineer IV to develop, maintain, and optimize scalable data solutions and engineering processes that support critical business initiatives. The ideal candidate will bring deep experience in data engineering, Python, ETL, data architecture, and operational data workflows, with a track record of delivering reliable and scalable data solutions.

Location: Remote – PST timezone is required
Schedule: 40 hours per week, 5 days per week; no overtime
Duration: 3 months through 12/31/2026, with potential for extension or conversion

Responsibilities

  • Manage data engineering projects through the full development and delivery lifecycle.
  • Identify and support business initiatives from a data engineering perspective.
  • Design, build, test, and maintain highly scalable data management systems.
  • Develop, implement, automate, and maintain large-scale enterprise ETL processes.
  • Build high-performance algorithms, prototypes, predictive models, and proof-of-concepts.
  • Evaluate and maintain data solutions to ensure they meet business requirements and established engineering practices.
  • Collaborate with data architects, data modelers, and IT team members to define and deliver project goals.

Internal Responsibilities

  • Attend regular internal practice community meetings.
  • Collaborate with your itD practice team on industry thought leadership.
  • Complete client case studies and learning material, including blogs and media material.
  • Build out material to contribute to the Digital Transformation practice.
  • Attend internal itD networking events, both in person and virtually.
  • Work with leadership on career fast-track opportunities.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • 8+ years of overall professional experience in data engineering or a related technical field.
  • Strong experience with Python.
  • Experience with data engineering and ETL processes.
  • Prior experience supporting operational data work/workflows.
  • Experience designing, developing, testing, and maintaining scalable data solutions.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction and effectively collaborate within a team.
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
  • Strong PC skills, including experience with Microsoft SharePoint.
  • Ability to collaborate with data architects, data modelers, and IT teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

  • Experience setting up and executing model evaluation processes.
  • Experience running and evaluating model measurement pipelines.
  • Previous experience working at Meta.
  • Process certification such as Six Sigma, CBPP, BPM, ISO 20000, ITIL, or CMMI.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field required
