Job Description

Job Summary

As the leading Data Management company, Netapp is driving a lot of growth and scale for its customers and partners using the Big Data and Data Analytics. The ability to create value out of the IOT data from the world class NetApp storage products and solutions is a key differentiator for business growth. Netapp is looking to hire Data Analytics and Data Science engineers/ architects to pioneer its solutions and scale it for mass adoption.

As a Data Science and Machine Learning Software Engineer you will work as part of a team responsible for building, designing and building Cloud Based (Software as a Service) Platform and Analytics services based on AutoSupport (ASUP)  for NetApp storage products.  As part of the Data Science and Machine Learning team, the overall focus of this group is on competitive market and customer requirements, technology advances, product quality, product cost and time-to-market.  As a Data Scientist, you will focus on developing new algorithms for real-time personalized search and recommendation using IOT data.

A willingness to work on additional tasks and responsibilities that will contribute towards team, department, and company goals. 

Qualifications

Requirements:

 

The candidate needs to have previous Data Science and machine learning experience using SparkML/MLlib technologies to solve large-scale problems. A strong understanding of distributed systems and strong experience in using open source framework to build applications is required.

 

Excellent understanding and implementation experience of Hadoop Architecture, including technologies: 

• Data Storage: HDFS, HBase, HIVE

• Data Processing, Analysis & Integration: Spark, Map Reduce, Impala, Sqoop

• Experience in Agile development methodology
