Position Details:

As part of the Finance team, you will report to Chief Financial Officer. The Director, Business Development and Enterprise Evaluation (Director) is a strategic leadership role. As the Director, you will be responsible for advancing the Child Mind Institute's enterprise-wide revenue strategy and ensuring disciplined, data-driven growth across clinical services, science, national programs, and global initiatives.

You will partner closely with executive leadership to evaluate new and existing business lines, identify scalable growth opportunities, and align investments with CMI's mission, financial objectives, and risk tolerance. Additionally, you will serve as a central integrator of market intelligence, financial analysis, and strategic planning, driving sustainable revenue diversification and long-term institutional impact..

This is an exempt, full-time position that requires a minimum of four (4) days per week in the office, as determined by your supervisor in our NYC headquarters office. The in-office requirement and schedule are subject to change based on the needs of the program and the organization.

You Will:

  • Business Line Evaluation & Portfolio Optimization
  • Lead structured evaluation of existing business lines, including financial performance, scalability, and mission alignment
  • Develop frameworks for assessing new ventures, including ROI, strategic fit, and operational feasibility
  • Provide recommendations on investment, expansion, restructuring, or sunset decisions
  • Enterprise Revenue Strategy & Growth
  • Support the development and execution of a comprehensive, enterprise-wide revenue enhancement strategy across clinical, research, education, and global program portfolios
  • Identify, prioritize, and advance new revenue streams, partnerships, and scalable business models
  • Align growth initiatives with organizational priorities, capital constraints, and risk tolerance
  • Market & Competitive Intelligence
  • Help organize and maintain market intelligence capabilities across clinical services, science, national training/education, and global program delivery
  • Monitor competitive dynamics, pricing models, funding trends, and emerging opportunities
  • Translate external insights into actionable strategic recommendations
  • Performance Analytics & Insights
  • Advance enterprise dashboards tracking revenue, margin, growth, and program performance
  • Partner with Finance, IT and program leadership to improve data quality, reporting consistency, and decision-support tools
  • Deliver regular executive-level insights on performance trends, risks, and opportunities
  • New Ventures & Go-to-Market Strategy
  • Support the design and launch of new initiatives, including pricing strategy, target markets, and distribution channels
  • Develop go-to-market strategies for new products, programs, and partnerships
  • Collaborate with Development, Communications, and Program teams to align funding and market strategies
  • Executive Partnership & Strategic Planning
  • Serve as a key advisor to the executive leadership on growth strategy and business performance
  • Support board-level materials, including growth plans, business cases, and performance reporting
  • Facilitate cross-functional alignment across clinical, scientific, and programmatic leadership
  • Perform additional job-related duties as assigned.
  • This is a non-supervisory position.

You Have:

  • 10 years of experience in strategic finance, business operations, or management consulting
  • Advanced degree (MBA, MHA, or similar)
  • Demonstrated experience driving revenue strategy, business model development, or growth initiatives
  • Strong data and financial acumen, with experience in pricing, unit economics, or revenue optimization
  • Experience in healthcare, digital health, consumer services, or marketplace environments
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally and influence senior stakeholders

Pay Range

The salary range for the position is posted. Factors such as candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations affect the salary offered within this range. In addition, this salary may be subject to a geographic adjustment (according to a specific city and state and depending on the role), if an authorization is granted to work outside of the location listed in this posting.
