Mastercard is looking for a commercially driven leader to help grow its Retail & Commerce business across Malaysia. This role focuses on building and expanding strategic partnerships with merchants, marketplaces, digital commerce players, payment facilitators, fintechs, and other ecosystem partners. The successful candidate will identify opportunities to accelerate growth, strengthen customer engagement, and expand adoption of Mastercard's products, services, insights, and solutions. Working across a broad range of stakeholders, the role combines strategic partnership development, commercial leadership, and ecosystem engagement to deliver sustainable business growth while helping shape the future of commerce and payments in Malaysia.
Role
• Develop and execute strategies to expand Mastercard's presence across the Retail & Commerce ecosystem in Malaysia. • Identify, originate, and convert new commercial opportunities with merchants, marketplaces, commerce platforms, payment facilitators, and ecosystem partners. • Build and maintain senior executive relationships across customer and partner organisations. • Drive adoption of Mastercard's products, data insights, consulting capabilities, loyalty solutions, and value-added services. • Collaborate closely with Account Management, Product, Marketing, Services, Finance, Legal, and other cross-functional teams to deliver customer outcomes • Create business cases, commercial proposals, and partnership strategies to support growth initiatives. • Manage a healthy pipeline of opportunities and deliver against revenue and segment growth objectives. • Monitor industry developments, competitor activity, and emerging technologies to identify opportunities for expansion. • Lead commercial discussions and support negotiation of partnership agreements. • Represent Mastercard as a trusted partner within Malaysia's evolving commerce and payments ecosystem.

• Significant experience in business development, sales, strategic partnerships, or commercial leadership roles with a proven track record of delivering revenue growth. • Experience selling to merchants, retailers, digital commerce players, marketplaces is needed. • Experience within payments, merchant acquiring, fintech, financial services, or the broader commerce ecosystem preferred. • Demonstrated success identifying, developing, and converting new business opportunities into measurable commercial outcomes. • Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to engage and influence senior decision-makers and executive stakeholders. • Commercial mindset with experience developing growth strategies, partnership propositions, and business cases. • Ability to navigate complex customer environments and manage multiple stakeholders across large organisations. • Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills. • Understanding of merchant economics, digital commerce trends, and customer growth strategies preferred. • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities combined with a results-oriented and entrepreneurial approach.
